"We face a lot of difficulties in doing our best to have enough food. This is so as we harvest a little due to lack of fertilizer which comes in coupons from government. We end up struggling to have everyday food and the children too sometimes fail to attend classes because of hunger."

"In my opinion, GiveDirectly does well in all their roles in my entire region. This is because the majority of us now own livestock, decent shelters, businesses, and others. This still feels like a dream to us because were it not for the help from the organization, our lives would have not changed this much. Therefore I do not see any part GiveDirectly failed us"

"I am really grateful for being considered in this program. I have been struggling to make both ends meet. My child is in form 1 and I have been struggling to pay his school fees. With the money, I will be able to pay the school fees.
I will use part of the money to buy blackets, some bags of fertilizer. My house is also very small and i am planning of building a bigger house with iron sheets on its roof. I will also buy some bags of maize for food processing."

"My life is different than how it would have been because I successfully boosted the spare parts business that I have been operating for quite some time. Initially, the business was somehow collapsing and it was because sometimes I could utilize the profits plus the little capital since it was the major source of income. Most of the time I could afford to settle my bills because in a day I could earn a profit of KES 150. Therefore after receiving the cash transfer I opted to revive it and I am now getting good returns. In a day, I normally make pits of KES 300. I am happier and hopeful now because I can be able to take good care of my family without straining"

"In my opinion, GiveDirectly does so well by empowering every household in our village. This is evident since the majority of us now have spacious iron-roofed houses unkie before whereby they were small grass-thatched huts. Also, no one of us owned livestock but for now, almost all households have quite a number of them. Which has made us even proud becasue we are certain our future shall be brighter."

"In my opinion, GiveDirectly does well because our lives are totally different. We have been able to achieve lots of things that we never thought of owning anytime soon. Most of us could not access a better shelter, the village was filled with grass-thatched houses that were in a poor state. Also, no one of us had livestock becasue of the financial hardships. directly has now brought joy and we can't thank them enough. Therefore I do not see any part GiveDirectly has not done well"

"The biggest hardship I have faced in my life was in the year 2007 when I lost my parents. Since then I had no one to depend on for school fees payment and more so food because my elder siblings still young also. We had no others but to seek for assistance for any well wishers untill recently I was now old enough to start doing casual jobs to raise school fees and meet other family basic needs."
