Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment i received the money was like a dream to me since i never believed that i can just receive that amount of money for free and it was like a dream coming true and i still can't believe upto now.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life since you started receiving payments from GiveDirectly.
The biggest difference is i have managed to pay my sons school fees,my son is in form 1 and his school fees always gives me headache since i don't have any source of money,I'm now sleeping on a matress and i sleep peacefully this year we will have adequate food for all of us and I'm super grateful.
What did you spend your most recent transfer(s) on?
It has been a dream for me to have a nice sleeping place so with my first transfer i used K70,000 to buy 8 inch sleeping matress,i also bought 2 blankets which costed me k38,000,2 bags of fertiliser at k60,000 and school fees for my son who is in secondary school and i paid 15000 as a school fees,i also paid K2000 as my monthly rent, and i have saved the remaining money for food and groceries.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
I am really grateful for being considered in this program. I have been struggling to make both ends meet. My child is in form 1 and I have been struggling to pay his school fees. With the money, I will be able to pay the school fees. I will use part of the money to buy blackets, some bags of fertilizer. My house is also very small and i am planning of building a bigger house with iron sheets on its roof. I will also buy some bags of maize for food processing.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I am always happy during lunch hours. It's the time I get home and sit back with my family and share food.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest challenge is school fees. We really struggle to pay school fees for our child. Food access is also a challenge.
