"When I receive the cash transfer, I will use some to improve small business, pay children school fees and the balance will be used to plaster my house floor. I am currently doing a small business and wish to improve it because the earnings cannot meet all of my family needs. The intention for the business was to complete my house, the house floor is very dusty that disturbs us a lot, we always pour water on the floor to keep it in a better condition. If I am successful to receive the cash transfer, I would love to buy cement and plaster the floor, My kids are not in school due to financial constraints, I will send them to school."

"When I receive the cash transfer, I will use some to start a business and use the balance to go back to school. Finance has been a serious challenge for me, I was in school in Monrovia but could not continue due to lack of money to pay my fees. I have to return home because of that, I am currently burning charcoal in order to start a business that will help me earn some money to get back to school. Most of my friends have now graduated from high school and some are in colleges, it hurts me mostly seeing myself in this condition. So if I am successful to receive the cash transfer I was start a business to help me keep paying my school fees and even build my own house in this village that anytime I return home I will have a place for myself to sleep instead of sleeping with friends in theirs rooms. I will really appreciate assistance that will help improve my status."

"The challenges I am currently facing is access to finance. I moved here since the war ended in 2003 with my husband, we build a house and have been staying in until he died, since his death, I have been struggling to maintain the house until a heavy storm damaged most parts of it. A neighbor helped me with a room to stay until I can renovate mine. The room I am currently occupying belongs to one of my neighbor's family members who now lives in Monrovia but occasionally comes to visit, I will have to sleep with some friends until he goes back. The situation is very unbearable, sometimes I feel very depressed going to beg a friend to pass the night. Secondly my son's school issue is one thing that bother me most often. He wants to go to the University of Liberia to further his education but my earnings cannot cover that. I really want to see him there to bring pride to me but it's just difficult for me. I will really appreciate assistance that will improve my livelihood."

"I am a motorcycle rider and I was going on with my daily routine when I heard a message notification on my phone. My heart was filled with joy upon checking its contents as it was a Mpesa message indicating that I had received the promised money from GiveDirectly. I called my spouse and informed her about the goodness that had just come in and she was equally overjoyed. I would have stayed at home and relaxed as a way of celebrating that day but I saw an opportunity of making more money on that day since I knew that so many people would go and withdraw their transfers."
