"Receiving this money means that I will start an income source by establishing a small poultry project. It is the only way I can earn through farming because my farm is too small for crop or animal production. I will spend about KES 20,000, I will buy a dairy cow at KES 30,000. I will also pay school fees with the remaining amount to return my son back to college. Since July, he has been staying at home because of lack of school fees."

"Acquiring a dairy cow is one of my dreams. This is a dairy milk production area, with a very big milk cooling plant. From the ones I already have, I get about 5 litres per day. If I get another one at about KES 40,000, my production will go up 10 liters, translating to an additional income of KES 6000 per month. I will be spending this amount on my children's school fees. I will use then spend another KES 20,000 on fencing and paddocking my farm . Finally , I will spend the remaining amount on improving my home and buying foodstuffs."

"We have not had sufficient rain for two months now. Because of this, my cows do not get enough feed and hence milk production has dropped from 15 litres to 10. Even though the income I get from this still sufficiently meets the needs of my family of five,I do not have any extra amount to put into savings or invest in other income generating projects."

"This help came at a perfect time. My house seeps water and also leaks from the roof. It is so dilapidated and old. Also, it is uncomfortable especially during rainy season because it can be very cold.Receiving this money, therefore, will enable me to build a better house. I intend to build an iron sheet roof house. This will cost me approximately KES 40000. I will use the rest of the money to buy a cow."

"The most challenging we are facing at the moment is food insecurity. We have not been able to produce maize for consumption unlike in the past. We, therefore, buy from the nearby siongiroi market. It's expensive and sometimes we are unable to afford it. This makes us resort to cooking porridge for survival. At such times our small children complain a lot and the situation makes us feel bad and sorry for ourselves ."
