"I plan to build my own house and send my children to school. I had a house before but it was broken down by rain. After it happened, my husband hurriedly built this one so that we can be sleeping in it and have a place to rest our head. It is just one room and we live here with our children, which is not a good example for them. I intend to build a more decent house to accommodate my children and myself. Getting our children in school here is hard because only one school was available in Gibini Town but this year, they don't have teachers. Every parent has resolved to send their children on the main road to school and it is tedious for the children and to even sponsor them everyday. With the transfer, I will be able to take good care of them while they go to school."

"Since my husband died more than years now, I went under operation and the operation was done successfully. So, upon this receiving this cash, I will used the money to treat myself. Because the sickness I went under the operation for has return and I don't have the money now to get back to the hospital for full medical attention. The body that I'm in now, is not my natural body, because of this sickness, I'm worrying, that I will died without seeing my great grand child/children that also cause me to worry more. To even get food, I have to make my own farm, just to feed myself. All my children are grown up and they have to take care of their homes."

"Receiving this money is a big relief to me and my family. I currently have four children in secondary level and barely depends on farming. For about 3 years now, we have had a lot of disappointments in terms of change of weather. This has led to getting as low as 5 bags in a year. After selling this I end up getting an average of KES12,500 in a year which is not enough to pay a huge balance of school fees that has since accumulated. From the transfers,I plan to use KES60,000 to clear the balance and use the remaining amount to buy one dairy cow that can substitute the payment for school fees."

"Before receiving this transfer I had already set my goal of starting an income generating project though I hadn’t decided what kind of a project I was going to do. There were so many ideas though they required huge amount of money but I decided to cut my coat depending on the size of the cloth, hence I settled on a shop business."

"We have been the community’s laughingstock for a while, nobody wanted to be associated with us and we lacked friends. Sometimes I used to sit alone and found myself talking with no one not because I was mad but because of the problems I didn’t know how I was going to tackle them. As of now things have magnificently changed. We eat well and we feel the life which we were lacking. Currently we have friends who come visit us and also people are willing to accompany us not as before when we were being neglected. We no longer have debts, we are living freely and happily."

"My life desire was to keep cows in my home. The main reason is that cows though they take time in multiplying but are more beneficial and have more value than goats. I was tired of admiring milk tea from neighbors. I bought 3 cows for KES 34000.00. I also paid KES 8000.00 school fees for my children. Since the water points are far away, one uses almost 2 hours to and from fetching some water and that is just a single bucket of 20 liters. Putting that into consideration I opted to repair a bicycle which had broken down to aid us in fetching the water. The little amount that remained is sustaining the family in buying some food."

"I was very happy when I received my cash transfer on my phone because I was so sorry about getting money to pay my children school fees this year. Moreover, I live in a house that is not belonging to me so I have been worried to how I will get money to built my own house. My happiness came about because I have seen a way out I can get my own house"

"The challenges that I am currently facing is access to finance. My health condition is a serious challenge because I am really frustrated having travelled all around from one herbalist to another but still no improvement. When I was healthy, I had everything I needed even though it wasn't that much, but I was not begging to feed my family. I was strong enough to burn charcoal for myself and sell, from the sales I paid my children school fees, build my house and feed my family. Nowadays it's never the same, the sickness has damaged everything. I will really appreciate assistance that will help improve my livelihood."
