"The lack of enough money is my biggest hardship. This has resulted to a lot of suffering in my family. Imagine sleeping under a leaking roof with an empty stomach. It is so disastrous trying to find shelter at the same time controlling a rumbling a stomach. Well, this is the kind of life that I have lived for decades. I do not even have decent beddings fit for a human being. "

"The biggest hardship faced is maintaining the grass thatched house and ploughing gardens on time during rainy season. I am always forced to rely on other people's oxen which causes delay in planting food crops since they plan for their gardens first before considering mine."

"Receiving this money means I will build a permanent house that will improve on our living conditions. The house we are sleeping in is grass thatched and it is leaking due to the termites that have eaten the grass. It is very expensive to renovate a grass thatched house because finding grass is very difficult and expensive."

"Receiving this money means I will be able to purchase oxen which will support in ploughing for easy and early crop cultivation. When I have the oxen, I will harvest good yields due to good timing and timely wedding which will be enabled due to little work. The produce can be sold in order to support education of my children hence they do have a better future. "

"The biggest hardship that I am faced with is inadequacy of money to provide the education needs of my children. I do cultivation for a living and it is the little that I am able to harvest that I sell part of in order to raise money for school fees. This limits the amount of food that I am left with to feed the family hence food shortage. "

"Lack of a reliable source of income is my biggest hardship. I am a girl with personal needs. The money I receive as a wage is not sufficient to solve my problems. Besides, some days I am not paid when there is no work which makes me vulnerable."

"The biggest hardship that I am faced with is inadequacy of land for cultivation. Since the piece of land that we had was leased out, only a small portion that is not enough to sustain my household is left. We are not able to cultivate as we would really wish to. As such, we are always faced with the problem of food shortage. "

"Receiving this money means that I will spend it for buying land and oxen. I separate with my spouse and thereafter returned home. My parents gave me one small garden which has been deplited due to constants usage hence low production. I will be ploughing this land with oxen to realise enough produce for maintaining my family member's needs. This produce I can also be consumed as food by my family members."

"The biggest hardship that I am faced with is paying school fees for my children. My children are in higher levels of learning which also requires high amounts of money. I am a police officer but my salary is always not enough to take care of the need. I try to do cultivation and actually sell off part of the harvest in order to raise money but still money is not enough considering the fact that other household needs have to be taken care of as well. "
