"My expectation in the near future is to buy a piece of land of our own. We currently live in our parents' piece of land with our other relatives. Staying here sometimes leads to conflicts that may arise since we share most of the resources. Since we have different personalities and view things differently, we end up fighting each other. I am tired of this kind of life and I hope that my child secures a good job and helps us move out of this place by topping up our savings. This will ensure that have fewer conflicts because of proximity."

"Going into the future, life may not change so much based on how I will be using my monthly transfers. Like I have mentioned, my primary target is to ensure that I sort out my school fees needs as well as paying my rent at the end of every month. Then finally I just ensure that I get a balanced diet every single day so that I live a healthy lifestyle."

"My life is different from how it was in that, I spend my time well. I was able to take a course in food and beverage courtesy of GiveDirectly's transfer. I could have been idling at home. I am almost done with the course. I am doing my attachment and hoping to open a hotel later on ."

"It is always my desire to give my family a good place to call home. I had previously built a small kitchen that looked spacious and decent enough when I had a small family with little needs to take care of in a day. As days went by my kitchen got older and older leading to its wall cracking and the roof leaking on top of it getting smaller. This had been a condition we had to live with since my little resources couldn't allow again to build a better one. I majorly depend on casual jobs and subsistence farming to support my growing family's daily needs. Our daily needs have been overwhelming that I had been forced to give my full attention leaving out my hope of building a decent kitchen. When I received my transfer, I felt happy that my hope had come again. I took part in it to construct a spacious decent kitchen. I am currently at peace as my family has a decent place to take pride in. Our food and household items are never rained on again like before and this is my happiness. Being able to fulfill this makes my heart be at peace and has given me a chance to focus on other development."

"Ever since I started receiving these transfers from GD, I have witnessed a great change in my financial life. I had the business before the transfers though were operating on a very minimal stock. The income was not much hence I could not grow the business because it was also my only income. The little income I used to get was only to cater for my needs which I could not even meet in time. With GD transfers, I have increased my stock which has resulted in a better income. At least now I am able to pay school fees for my children, buy food and meet other needs of the family well without struggling all because of GD transfers."

"I spent my transfer on savings which I will use in expanding my barbershop business. I would not only want to have a barbershop business but also have salon business in the same premise. This is why I am saving my transfers so that I can start the salon part of the business to help me increase my income and utilise the space I have rented effecticvely."

"In the next six months, I have great hopes and expectations that my poultry farming will have picked. I am planning to kickstart the project with indigenous breeds of chicken which are easy to manage under a free-range system and later will upgrade to the exotic breeds which can be purely layers of broilers in the near future."

"My expectation in the near future is to be able to lease a piece of farm and improve my scope of farming. I am a passionate farmer and I always want to do different kinds of farming but I am limited with the small piece of land that we own. The only way then of making this happen will be to lease a separate piece of land and utilize it. I also want to buy an improved breed of a dairy cow in addition to the few that I currently rear. The proceeds from these projects will help me meet my family's basic necessities and ultimately help me better take care of my family."
