"This means a lot to me. I am so grateful for this program. I hired people who are moulding bricks and the money is coming at a right time when I am planning of building of a house. My work will be simplified because I will use the money to buy iron sheets and some bags of cement.
I will use part of the money to buy food. My children do not have nice clothes and I will buy some clothes for them."

"I started engaging in casual jobs at my tender age since I couldn't continue with my studies due to limited resources. Working as a casual labourer hasn't been an easy task facing challenges like little wages, rude employers and working in hostile conditions. To me the biggest hardship I have faced in my life is lack of financial capacity to do my own and even study to higher level that would have been better for me and my family."

Kana
received a $510 initial payment.
"I spent part of my first transfer on buying some bedding which includes a wooden bed and mattress at a total of KES 11300. Previously I was using some old sacks and some old clothes and beddings and I had lots of discomforts plus pains every morning. Also, I bought building materials like, iron sheets, building poles, threads, nails, and timber. I bought all these whoth the aim of constructing a new house becasue the initial was almost collapsing due to the weak walls and old roof. I later cleared school fees for my four children who are in primary schools and they are now studying peacefully. With the remaining cash transfers, I bought enough foodstuffs for my family"
