"I am newly married and therefore still depend on my husband for income and most of it goes towards purchasing milk. Receiving this money means that I will be able to buy a cow that will produce milk. The milk will feed my household and the rest will be sold ($0.35) a litre. This income will go along way in purchasing chairs for my house since I currently have none."

"Lack of money to buy food is my biggest challenge I face. The maize produce I get from my piece of land is not enough to take through the year together with my family of two children. Sometimes I am forced to do hard casual work to get money which I use to buy food."

"My dream is to be a certified teacher.Due to financial strains I haven't been able to finish my diploma studies in Early Childhood Education. Once in a will I get called for temporary jobs that pay $40-$50 per month. This is because I did not finish school and get certified. I will use $450 to pay for my school fees, $300 for finishing our house by adding 2 more rooms for our children and the remaining to purchase a dairy cow that we can sell milk and get an extra income."

"Receiving this money from GiveDirectly means a decent and a spacious house for my family. I am planning to use 500 dollars from the transfer to construct a two bedroom house which is enough for my family of four. One room will be mine and the other room will house my three children. I will use the balance to buy a piece of land for subsistence farming. Currently, I do farming on a half an acre peace of land. This is not enough for my family and can nolonger sustain us. The extra piece of land will assure my family of food security because there will be a rise in productivity."
