"In the year 2017, I was just out of my college when my father got a chronic disease hence we spend our family resources in his medication leaving us with none to rely on. He later on passed on meaning I took over his responsibilities as a first born in my family and since then I have had to work extra hard doing different casual jobs to make sure my siblings get their daily meals and other basic needs. My father's dead was my biggest hardship I have ever faced in my life."

"My old age has been the biggest hardship so far. It has disabled me from engaging in continuous economic production. Being a widow and polygamous wife, it has taken a toll on me to raise a dignified life for my young children."

"Lack of money is the biggest hardship I have ever faced. I lost both my mother and my four children in the past ten years due to health related complications. I used a lot of money in their hospital bills. I was forced to sell all my livestock in order to raise money for their hospital bills. Unfortunately, they did not make it. From that moment, all my finances were drained in totality and I have never made a come back again financially."

"For a long time, I have wanted to build a house with an iron sheets roof. This will enable us to collect rainwater and also reduces the burden for my wife going to fetch water over long distances and also I can save at least Sh 600 a month which I always use to buy water.I have also sold most of my livestock to gather for my kids school fees .Therefore this transfer will help me acquire some other cattle and hence I can sell their young ones in future for my kids fee again."

"My dream has always been to establish a good house for myself, this house I live in now belonged to my late mother. I have been unable to build a house or pay for my school fees since the sudden death of my mother who was the breadwinner of the family. Being the last born I had to sell a part of my share of piece of land to pay my school fees and gather for food and other household needs. Now that I may receive these transfers I shall build a good house worth $40 and buy a dairy cow .I shall sell the milk and earn at least $15 a month."

"The lack of a stable source of income has been the biggest hardship that I have ever faced in my life. Currently, I work as a cook, and the most I earn is $7 per week. This income is very minimal and it can not fully cater to our basic needs. Sometimes, we skip meals, and also my children are sent out of school due to a lack of fees something that has robbed away my joy."

"My husband is physically disabled and doing hard work to him is very difficult. This has forced me to assume all his responsibilities and since I depend on subsistence farming, sometimes I feel more challenged in meeting our basic needs. Hence, I consider financial instability in my household as the biggest hardship that I have ever faced."
