Nyevu
received a $491 second payment.
"I have always wished to own a piece of land for farming but due to financial instability I was not able to achieve my desire. This is because the place I used to farm earlier was at a lower place where my crops used to be carried away by running water. After receiving my transfer, I prioritize purchasing an acre piece of land which cost $350. I also bought one local dairy cow for $130 it will provide me with steady milk supply for the family. In addition, I am planning to use the male offspring when it reproduce as oxen for ploughing my farm. The remaining amount assisted me in purchasing enough food for the family."

Kabunda
received a $508 initial payment.
"For all those years I have been sheltering under a small temporary hut with a very old roof. I have been aspiring to construct a modern one but because of financial difficulties could not afford to purchase the necessary materials. Being a widow and a family breadwinner has not been easy at all. I have been straining to make ends meet which was not attainable most of the days. Therefore having a spacious house would take years for me to accomplish this goal. For all that time some of my children had to seek shelter from their friends since they are adults and they needed privacy as well. Also according to my culture, it is taboo to share a room with your children who are mature. This situation frustrated me alt as the parent but then I had no option. I am happy and proud own because I managed to construct a decent spacious house that can accommodate all my children and even host a visitor and I feel it makes the biggest difference in my daily life."

"Receiving this money means an increased source of income. I am currently engaged in a small business of buying and selling cows within and outside the village and selling them in a nearby market. The business is nowadays unreliable because we seldom get cows to buy and sell. I am therefore planning to buy a dairy cow of approximately Ksh 30,000 and my projection is to milk 8 liters a day. Out of this, I will sell 5 liters at Ksh 30 per liter and consume 3 liters. The proceed I get will be used to cater to education and household expenditure. This translates to an improved household income."
