"I sell street food such as kebabs, sausages and fries. Preparation if these foods have always been a bit hectic because I do not have modern equipment such as potato peelers or even a frier. Now that my savings in our table banking group have improved, all thanks to these transfers, I will take a loan to facilitate the purchase of this equipment so that I can be more efficient and spend less time during preparations. This will also save me a lot of money spent on charcoal which has become very expensive due to the bans placed on the commodity in most parts of the country."

"With three of my children joining secondary school next year, I feel that Give Directly's intervention is quite timely. Such a responsibility requires alot financial muscle which I do not have but am thankful now because GD will be of much help as I will spend most of the transfers on their fees and shopping. With the rest I will purchase oxen to expand my farming and increase stock in my catering business. "

"The biggest hardship that I am faced with is maintaining a family alone as a widow. I have four children in school but providing their needs is such a big charllage to me. I do not have land that I can cultivate to get food so I do casual labour most of the time. Sometimes I have had to borrow small portions of land to cultivate but what is produced is not usually enough to take care of the family the whole season. Life is not easy. "

"Inability to provide for my children's needs adequately is the biggest hardship i have faced in my life. My husband who is a motorcycle rider is the sole breadwinner in our family and we usually spend the money he earns daily on food. Sometimes my children fail to attend school like others since they spend most of their time home due to lack of school fees.I see my husband struggle alot but i hope our struggles will soon end immediately we receive our first transfer from GD since i plan to engage in income generating activities in order to support him."
