"The moment I received my first transfers, I felt so happy because I knew that whatever I have been yearning for shall be achieved. I was wondering how I would raise cash for buying materials for building a better house for my family but when I got the transfers that was the time I saw my dream come true."

"Lack of finances is my biggest worry at the moment. I have 2 children and they have just started their education. In order for me to provide for their basic needs, my husband and I have to work extra hard so that we can save the little money we get from casual labor."

"The biggest hardship I face is lack of enough money to care for all the children and grandchildren I live with. I depend on casual labor and farming to make a living. It is only at the end of the year when I make money from selling sugarcane. I also build houses but I don't often find people who want to renovate or build new houses around here."

"Producing enough milk for domestic purposes after purchasing a lactating cow has been the biggest difference in our daily lives. It has been costly obtaining packaged milk from the shop every morning, and buying from the nearby farmers was not any cheaper still. This has so far been a relief and we are pleased that we can now spend the small amount initially allocated to buying milk to serve other needs."

"Receiving this money means improved security for my family. This is because my house collapsed 6 months ago and I have never managed to construct a new one due to lack of funds. This has forced me to live in an open-sided structure that scares me most from the dangers of wild animals that frequently visit our area. I plan to spend a better portion of my first transfer(KES 45000) to ensure that, I construct a decent house for my family. The second transfer will help me to buy 10 goats for KES 30000 to ensure that I have a long-term investment project. With the remaining amount, it will help me to sort out some of the very basic needs like food and nice beddings."

"Receiving this money means improving my social status by constructing a decent and spacious house for my family of nine. I'm planning to use the transfer to build two houses for my family, a two bedroom for myself and a one bedroom for my children (boys) at a cost of 350 dollars. This is because they are always forced to sleep at their grandmother's house, something am not happy about since it invades on my parents privacy. The current house I dwell in is small and unable to shelter my entire family. I'll then use the balance to buy goats. I prefer goats because they multiply fast meaning I'll make handsome profits from their sale in the future. The cash will be used to cater for my children school fees."
