"I will use the money to build a way much better house as the one I currently live in is small; dilapidated and grass thatched. I want to build an iron sheet roofed house with a cement floor so that I can be mopping it"

"I spent my transfer on purchasing building poles and stones to improve status of my house by adding another one room because the one I had was small. I also purchased bed and mattress to replace my traditional bed and old sacks which were not comfortable and always brought me backache. This lowered my self-esteem because whenever I received visitor I use to sleep on the floor. I spent the remaining amount to educate my 3 grandchildren and purchased enough food for my family."

Daniel
received a $510 initial payment.
"Receiving the first transfer was a great deal of a blessing to our household. We decided to spend part of it on obtaining a heifer and one lactating cow. This was a chance for us to redeem ourselves and get back to the livestock keeping after selling the previous herd to pay school fees for my sons. With the remaining portion, we had other great plans to invest in but my sister-in-law was hospitalized then. Being one of the family members whom most of my younger brothers look up to, I had to stand in and ensure that the admission cost to the hospital was cleared. We are all glad that she is now well even though she is still under medication."

"The happiness we had in our household after receiving the transfer was overwhelming; it was the right time when we really needed to make a lot out of it. We had been watching the great work happening in the adjacent villages, and this has always been a great motivation not only to us but also to the whole village. This moment of receipt confirmation assured us that all we had in books will soon be accomplished."
