"I was happy and excited when Givedirectly started working in our village because I knew that my life would change for the better. I have a small farm which does not produce as much food as i need in my home. As such, when I receive this cash transfer I will buy maize. I will also buy a matress because I only have a bed and it's not comfortable to sleep on a bed without a matress. Lastly, I will buy building materials like iron sheets and and bricks. These I will use to build a new house. The house I live in is not durable since it is made of unbaked bricks and it's thatched with grass."

"I am happy to be enrolled in the project. If I will receive this money, I will use it to build a new house. The house I live in is in bad condition. It leaks during the rainy season because it's thatched with grass. I also have to change the grass annually. On top of that it is made of unbaked bricks. I am also planning on buying food. I depend on casual labour to make money which I use to buy food because I don't harvest enough maize to last all year round. Most of the times we don't eat enough food because I don't find piece works every day."

"The program is very helpful. People have managed to build houses, pay school fees and buy food. I think GD is doing very well in reaching out to everyone in the village. The amount of money given is also huge to improve someone's life."
