What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The main challenges I face is not harvesting enough maize to last all year round. This results in not eating a balanced diet.
What is the happiest part of your day?
In the last six months there is nothing that has brought joy in my life. If I were to have a good house and enough food to eat I would be happy.
What does receiving this money mean to you?
I was happy and excited when Givedirectly started working in our village because I knew that my life would change for the better. I have a small farm which does not produce as much food as i need in my home. As such, when I receive this cash transfer I will buy maize. I will also buy a matress because I only have a bed and it's not comfortable to sleep on a bed without a matress. Lastly, I will buy building materials like iron sheets and and bricks. These I will use to build a new house. The house I live in is not durable since it is made of unbaked bricks and it's thatched with grass.
