"My usual day starts in the morning at 6:00am when I wake up, I wash clothes, do house chores, prepare breakfast and launch for my family before I leave for work. I arrive at my work place at Huruma Mathare at 10:30am where I sell shoes along the road until 6:30am in the evening. I return back in my house prepare for supper and then I retire to bed. On Saturdays I attend group meeting and on Sunday go to church. In my free time, I relax at home, watch movies or sometimes visit friends."

"I used part of the money I recently received to start a soda business near a park where people mostly hang out. I made this my first priority because I am currently taking a mechanic course, which was funded by my father before he lost his job and relocated to the village. This left me with the responsibility of paying for my own fees and taking care of my younger brother who is currently living with me. So I had to find a way of creating a long lasting source of income to sustain the both of us. I also purchased few building materials which I sent home because I am planning to build my own house early next year.I saved the remaining amount to help us with our daily needs as we wait for the business to stabilize."

"When I saw the notification message of cash receipt I was in disbelief. I thought it was a fake message because we are used to many fraudsters who keep sending us dummy messages of cash receipt. Nevertheless, I still went to the agent to withdraw and confirm if it was true or otherwise. I indeed received the physical cash in my hand and I believed it! I was elated to say the least. I went back home and planned to buy the solar panel immediately having communicated with my husband on phone and we agreed to buy it."

"The biggest difference in my daily life is that my family no longer walk for a long distance to look for water for domestic use. It was hectic and both time and energy consuming fetching water to be used for the whole day. Aside from that, I won't be relying on the rain for farming because I can now irrigate my farm thus I expect to have an improved food supply for the family."

"My project has now begun. This is the biggest difference in my daily life. If all goes well, I will be able to generate income to lift our standard of living. I plan to use my oxen to plough farms of people who do not intend to own their own hence need my services. I will earn some cash from there to meet our needs. I am grateful for the funds."
