"The biggest hardship I face in my life is lack of food security. This is because over the years we have been ploughing our farm manually and this translates to a small portion of the land being prepared for planting crops. We only manage to get 2 bags of maize which cannot sustain us to the end of the year. "

"My aspiration has been to own cows so that my family is relieved of the burden of buying milk. Milk in our place is sold expensively (Ksh 40 per litre) and is becoming unaffordable for my household since we use about 3 litres on a daily basis. Therefore receiving this money from GD means I will have the means to afford two dairy cattle which will go along way in providing milk for my household and as well as acting as a source of income for us (Proceeds obtained from the sale of milk)."

"At my age, I find it extremely difficult to plough my farm manually, it is exhausting and time consuming. I also can not cover a large area which means less harvest. Receiving this money means buying oxen and an ox plough that will help me in farming so that I can increase my yield. It will also save my energy and time which I can use in doing other activities that can generate income for me. Secondly, I will buy two dairy cows so that I can supply milk in Bamba and Mariakani markets to enable me earn extra income. "

"I prioritize like that because first I would like to start my own business of buying and selling clothes so that I can have a stable income to support myself and my family. Secondly, I will use it to buy household items and shopping for my children for Christmas. Lastly, I will also help my husband with house rent because sometimes it's a challenge and fail to get rent and it makes landlord to come and disturb our peace. "
