"My ambition is to invest in sugarcane farming. I have some land that lies fallow because I lack money to put it in proper agricultural use. I would like to spend the transfer on hiring labor for ploughing, weeding, fertilizer and herbicides. From this I hope to harvest with good returns hence increasing my economic power to meeting the needs of my family like food, education, medication and clothing."

"My biggest hardship in life is inadequate financial resources to build myself a house and buy oxen to help me farm. During rainy season I always suffer from cold because my roof leaks and this costs me money for treatment which I do not have. Because I am too old, I get tired very fast and therefore can not plough a big parcel of land with my hands which results in less harvest. I always end up depending on my son who is a casual labourer in Mombasa for upkeep which makes me feel like a burden to him because he has his own family to take care of."

"My husband marrying a second wife is the biggest hardship I have faced. He got married two years and since then relocated to another town far from here,we rarely hear from him neither does he support us as far as meeting our children's basic needs and educational needs is concerned. This makes me very emotional atimes but all i do is focus on meeting my chidren's needs through the sale of one or two litres of milk, this however is not enough to cater for their school fees we usually do get togethers as a community where we help each other raise school fees."

"I have been living in a grass thatched house which has a leaking roof and is too small for my family. At night, we have hard to take some of our properties outside to create sleeping space for my family which has been a big risk of losing the items. I have started purchasing building materials such as iron sheets and nails which I want to use in building a bigger, better and iron roofed house."

"Receiving this money will enable me to start a new business of shopkeeping. This will relieve me from the worries and struggles I have been facing from house construction business which I rarely get clients. Through the shop business, I will be able to focus on selling bread, sugar and other household goods that have a ready market in our village. "

"The biggest hardship I faced was losing my house to fire tragedy. I had to use all my savings to build the current house. This led to great decline in my business. I believe I shall revive the business again. "

"I want to start a printing T-shirts. I have a passion for art. I have confidence I will get customers. Customers want quality in whatever they purchase, and I know I can be able to deliver that.
I can also open a shoe business for both men and women. I will stop depending on the matatu hustle and be my own employer. This will impact and change my life positively. I will have done away with uncertainities of unemployment.
Lastly, I want to take my wife to university, for her to advance her studies. She has always desired to go back to school and I want to be the one that takes her to university. In future we will be able to support each other and our children."
