"The new goal that I would wish to achieve in the next four months is to build an iron-roofed house. Currently, I am living in a grass thatched house which is usually difficult to maintain. The material that is used to maintain this kind of house has been depleted. They are usually very difficult to find in the market. I am planning to build another permanent house that is easy to maintain and will last longer"

I will be buying second hand shoes and clothes at Gikomba at cheaper price. There is a ready market due to high population and this will enable me to get alot of profit in return. I will also open a salon business for my wife to supplement our income and not to rely much on me. Secondly, I would want to buy a house in Kosovo Mathare. I will be relieved from the pressure of paying rent monthly as I will want to reinvest in my business. Thirdly, I would want to save part of the transfers since I have children and I would want to support them in their education in future."

"Currently, I do not have a reliable source of income. The only source of income I have is burning charcoal for sale and the income I earn from it can only cater for the basic needs such as food. For the next six months of my life, I would wish to start up a business but this can only happen if I get the capital."

Getting a new motorbike will ensure that my finances grow in bounds thereby giving me more financial freedom and financial ability to take care of other financial needs in the family. I will also be able to create employment opportunities for young youths who will be willing to take up the job and earn a living out of the business."

"In the next six months, my life will not be the same again since I will have started a poultry keeping project. This project will be my alternative source of income apart from dairy and crop farming. I will be using the money derived from this project to provide for my family needs and use the money from the other projects to support my children's education."

"My ambition is to be a successful and responsible father to my children, be self employed and be a role model to others. My wife and I were once street families. As a street child I would use drugs especially glue for hallucination and for feeling high. I had no home and one of my children was born on the streets. I struggled to make ends meet and when I moved from Mlango kubwa to Kosovo Mathare I met peers who helped change my life for the better. My life background has been poor, with no one to guide me for good morals but I want to ensure my family's basic needs are met and that I be a good role model to my children."

"My life is better now because I sleep in an iron roofed house that I constructed with the GiveDirectly transfers.
