"My life has changed because I acquired a bed and a mattress. I now sleep comfortably as opposed to before when I slept on a plastic bag and covered with a light clothe. In addition, I also acquired a cow which I'm rearing for milk production and incase the number multiplies in future, I can sell some of the cattle to meet my basic needs. Previously I never own a cow."

"In the next six months, my life will change in that I will have plastered my house. I used part of my transfers to buy building material which I used in building a new house. Due to strong winds in my area, I would want to plaster the house to make it durable and strong for the winds. I would also want to stop smearing on a monthly basis since it is time-consuming and tiresome. Plastering the house will make it look presentable."

"I have two children in secondary school whose fees for this term I have not cleared yet. This is stressing me up especially not that I am still recuperating from the illness I just suffered hence unable to work to earn any income. I also have to clear my hospital bill first before focusing on the school fees. I hope that in six months, I will be fully recovered and the bill I currently owe the hospital will have been fully cleared and my children's school fees cleared as well. I know the transfers will take a huge part of these expenses and I am praying that when the transfers are over, I will have no debts."

Apart from that since I also bought a solar lantern I will also be having a proper lighting system."

"Lack of sustainable sources of income has been the biggest hardship in life. At the moment, we depend on charcoal burning business, a venture that is so strenuous, yet a low paying one -the returns earned there are hardly enough to sustain the needs of the family. To put this into perspective, from the village to where we get the required trees, one walks for over 15 kilometers, and a sack of ready charcoal goes for ksh500 tops. And to earn that, one has to work for it for over a week; sometimes we are forced to spend our nights in the cold because it needs close attention and constant checking to avoid losses. That explains the kind of struggles that we go through to put food of the table. In most cases, we struggle a lot to keep kids in school since the money earned is not enough to cater for all that, and this calls for a lot of sacrificing. Receiving this aid will be a great relief, at least my family will no longer have to endure hard life situations. We intend to maximize its gains."
