"The biggest hardship that I am faced with is lack of land for cultivation. The piece of land that I have is just enough for a home compound with no where to cultivate yet there is need. I struggle to find some money that can enable me to hire atleast a piece of land each time I try to cultivate. In cases where I have failed to raise money for hire of land, I have just stayed back home because I can not force. I resort to doing casual labour just to be sure that atleast children have a meal."

"Receiving this money means I will be able to build an iron roofed house. The one that I have is grass thatched which also leaks. Grass is scarce these days so finding it is so hard. I will also take care of the education needs of my children if I receive this money. I believe the future of my children will be better if I educate them."

"The biggest hardship that I am faced with is staying with a woman as a wife yet I have not paid bride price. My parents-in-law have always demanded for dowary from me but I don't have the capacity to take care of the need. I have lived together with my wife for one year now but with a lot of pressure. It is a risk on my side because in the case that something bad happens say for example that she dies before I pay bride price, the outcome will be so bad that the in-laws can even destroy my home."

"The biggest difference in my life is that I have been able to pay school fees for my children who are at boarding schools. I was worried before and thought that my children would have to sit home and fail to complete the third term. Previously, I depended entirely on agriculture which could not sort all the school fees at once. I know that GiveDirectly would give me this onetime opportunity. I am really blessed and very grateful for this cash transfer."
