"This is a great chance for my family to build iron-roofed house with Givedirectly money. Iam lame and have suffered sleeping in a leaking grass thatched house for long since it hard to get grass. The iron-roofed house once complete will put to an end the suffering experienced for such a very long period of time by my household members."

"The biggest hardship that I am faced with is taking care of the education needs of my children. My wife tries to brew local alcohol so as to raise some money that can support the household. However, despite the efforts put in, it is common for my children to be sent out of school for not paying fees on time. It is for this reason that we have always got soft loans from some loan schemes just to ensure that children attend school."

"The biggest hardship that I am faced with is sickness. I have a heart problem and with this, I am not able to work like other people do. My husband is also sick and can not really do heavy work from the time he got a motor accident.
We survive on the little money that he gets as pension plus what our children some times send for us but life is not really easy."

"The biggest hardship that I am faced with is providing the education needs of my children. All my children are of school going age and they actually study. However, taking care of their needs is a charllage. There is almost no money. My husband does carpentry, I do farming but what we are able to raise is not enough to sort our household needs.
Some times my children are sent out of school for failure to pay fees on time. I feel so bad yet I can't reverse the situation. "

"I received my transfer notification early in that morning. I could not contain the joy after realizing it was from Give Directly indicating they had sent me the first transfers. I never expected that a day would come and get such an amount. Organizations have come and left without fulfilling their promises. I didn't put much hopes towards this help that is why I was so excited when I saw the message. I remember praying and thanking God for bringing this organization to our village"

"The biggest hardship I have faced is difficulty in difficulty in cultivating crops on large scale. I rely on hand tools for planting crops which limits on the size of the harvest each season."

"My greatest desire was to see my children having a good place to shelter instead of seeking shelter elsewhere at night. The money has enabled me to build an extension of a single on my house to accommodate them under one roof. I bought enough materials which include building poles and iron sheets for roofing. I am at peace now because my children do not have to worry any more for shelter. To me, seeing my children comfortable in this house is the biggest difference in my daily life."

"My daily life is currently different from how it was before because I have been able to start a business using my transfers. Due to this, I now have a stable source of income. This has enabled me to meet our daily needs on time without depending too much on my spouse. I am hoping to expand this business with time so that I can maximize the profits I will be getting."
