Margaret
received a $528 second payment.
"There is really a great difference in my life after receiving the unconditional transfers. I would not be where I am at the moment since I was lacking a lot. School fees payment was a great struggle, and no one would find some extra money to buy livestock or construct new houses but all the above have been made possible thanks to the support I received from GD."

Jane
received a $528 second payment.
"My life is currently different in that I now have more livestock to keep in my compound having sold all that I had before to pay school fees for my children. It is so embarrassing at times to stay without any livestock in my community and more often it is a sign of poverty. Having sold all of my livestock to pay school fees for my children and remaining with non, I felt so much disadvantaged and was lost on where to start having very little income from my casual jobs and proceeds from subsistence farming. With these transfers I was not only able to pay back debt accumulated in the past days but also bought livestock with the remainder. I am optimistic that the livestock bought from these transfers shall go a long way in reclaiming my financial status and allowing me to meet other family needs."

Zawadi
received a $528 second payment.
"My life is different from how it would have been in that, my sister has now finished her course in tailoring and can be employed and earn her own money. My children have been able to attend school consistently without being sent home for school fees like they used to before and the house renovation is underway. I am a happy woman and proud of this far that GD has enabled me to reach."

Julius
received a $528 second payment.
"I majorly depend on subsistence farming which has not been doing well enough to cater for both our daily needs and any other goal in the family. I have children in various schools and my biggest ambition is to see them prosper in their education to allow them to have a better life in the future. Raising their school fees is has always been a challenge to me due to the limited resources in our family. Currently owning the two dairy cows is an achievement to me since once they reproduce, I will have milk for both household consumption and sales gives me. Also, I will have offsprings that I can always depend on in case of any financial crisis more so to raise my children's education fee and any other household necessity arising. To me, having achieved this makes my life different from how it would have been had I not received my transfers."

Angeline
received a $497 third payment.
"Before the project, I had no stable source of income and only depended domestic casual jobs that were mostly unavailable. I mostly depended on my husband for financial support because whatever little I earned was barely enough to take care of my needs as a woman. Through the transfer I received, I have managed to set up a business with the help of three of my friends who agreed to join hands with me to raise enough money for the business I had in mind. I am now making more money than I ever imagined making in a day and very pleased about having a regular source of income. I am now hopeful and ambitious with great plans for my future which I all awe to Give Directly."

Rowah
received a $497 third payment.
"I used part of my most recent transfer to boost my clothing business by adding more stock to increase my profits, especially because it was during the festive season when most people spent on clothes. I also spent some of it on Chrismas gifts such as clothes and shoes for my children then saved the rest for future plans."

Peter
enrolled.
"Receiving this money will enable me to construct a three roomed iron roofed house since the one roomed hut we currently live in with my spouse and three children is smaller than our family size. I also plan to buy a dairy heifer that will be our daily source of income in future whenever we sell milk. I will then use the remaining part of my transfer to buy food and clothing for my children and spouse."

"Building a two roomed iron roofed house which will cost $350 and buying one friessian dairy cow @$400 which means an additional ksh 120 to my family from selling 4litres of milk daily is what receiving this money means to me. I also plan to buy a stock of bags of maize and beans for household consumption now that we got poor harvests from the last harvesting season"

"My first priority upon receiving this money is building a new iron roofed house since this small hut i live in leaks in water whenever it rains. I also intend to buy a dairy cow that will provide milk for sale hence an assured daily source of income. I will use the remaining part of my transfer to set up poultry keeping project whose proceeds will supplement that of selling milk hence improving my living standards now that i will be able to afford decent meals as well as proper health care aside from other basic needs."
