Zawadi
received a $547 initial payment.
"Having taken my son to school has really brought the biggest difference in my life. This is because he had finished his primary school education and there were no hopes of him joining high school because of the poverty life that we had. The little amount of money that I was earning was too little for him to join secondary school. After getting my first transfer, my first priority was to send him to school. I am now so happy seeing my son studying without any difficulties. I never got a chance to go to school and I did not want to see my children go through the same. I am happy seeing my dream come true because I am sure their future shall be bright as compared to mine. I have been able to achieve all this through financial support from GiveDirectly. I feel so blessed and happy for being among the beneficiaries."

Shida
received a $547 second payment.
"Paying for my son's school fees was a big challenge for me. Being a single mother without a stable source of income, I never paid for their school fees on time and because of late payment, my children would be at times sent home and would stay for weeks. After receiving this money, I paid for all of them the fee arrears, One in college and in high school. I also bought a cow which I am expecting it reproduce and have many of them. Besides being my asset, I will be getting milk to sell to earn an income. This is will be a source of income for me. I believe if it wasn't GiveDirectly, then it would have taken me years to realise this."

Dama
received a $547 initial payment.
"The money came as a big relief to me. My house collapsed after heavy rains and since then, I have not been able to access a good shelter because I did not have the means and resources to build a new home. When I received my first transfer, I purchased enough building materials that include iron sheets, building poles and nails. I also paid for the labour. I am now in the process of building a new house, which makes it be the biggest difference in my daily life."

"It was around 6 am when I heard a message notification on my phone. On checking the contents, I was filled with happiness upon realizing it was from GiveDirectly indicating they had sent me my first transfer. I remember cancelling all the day's activities because I couldn't concentrate after receiving the message. I was so overwhelmed since it is the highest amount I have ever received in my life. I thank GiveDirectly for making my day."

Jumwa
received a $528 second payment.
"My life is now different because I managed to buy two dairy cows from the financial support I received from DiveDiectly. I have been longing to own them for long but I could not afford it because of my low income. I depended on the casual jobs, considering I was a single parent I had to struggle to raise my two children. Whenever I could seek financial assistance from my family, they all claimed they do not have. Life was not easy at all. After buying the dairy cows I feel everything in my life has changed because I will be getting milk fir free and also sell the remaining liters e to friends and this will boost my income. I am so thankful because if it were not for this organization to come to our village I would not have bought them anytime soon."

Joel
received a $528 second payment.
"Comparing my life now with the life I would be living if I had never received the transfer, it is very clear that there are very major differences that have come in. In the farming sector, I am currently a proud farmer, having both livestock and subsistence farming doing very well. I have also constructed and furnished my new house and welcoming visitors now is no longer as hard as before since I used to always borrow some chairs from my villagers; something which stopped as soon as I completed the construction of my new house."

Samuel
received a $40 fourteenth payment.
"I spent my transfer on boosting my grocery business by adding more stock to the business. The business was not doing well since there was shortage of supplies due to long dry periods in the country. Without the transfers, I would have to seek help from family members or even take a loan in the group to boost the business."
