Cyntia
received a $493 second payment.
"With the 22000KES from the second transfer, I bought a 3000-liter plastic water tank. This was one of the items I had on the to-do list after getting piped water channeled to our household. I needed a storage facility as a backup plan in case of droughts and any uncertainties with the water supply which we normally face. I also parted with 8000KES after obtaining four rolls of barbed wire and paying the labor after putting up a strong fence around my compound. With the remaining amount, I completed the construction of our new house. I am glad we managed to complete the floors, and currently, we are finishing up on the painting."

Mercy
received a $493 second payment.
"Being at the final stages of my construction seems like a miracle to me. GiveDirecrly made it possible for the long timeline I had to reduce by almost half. The house we constructed in our household was so big that we were sure to complete it in more than one year, but after receiving the transfers, we managed to scale up the construction work - we availed all the required materials and paid labor in time to ensure that nothing at all would have slowed it down. I am glad that the support came when we really needed it and also commit us to put it in a physical project which would not have been possible if I had not received the transfer."

Patience
received a $493 second payment.
"I spent my transfer to purchase solar panel which I use to light my house and charging phones for my neighbor at a fee. Previously, we were using a paraffin lamp which was risky to my children due to its smoke, and sometimes it explodes and burn our clothes at night. In some instances, I was preferring to living without lights than use the paraffin lamp. Also, I bought one more indigenous dairy cow in order to increase my milk production hence more income. The remaining amount assisted me to purchase 5 plastic chairs and educated my kids."

Nyevu
received a $493 second payment.
"I spent part of my second transfer on buying livestock such as an ox and two goats 19k. I have been thinking of owning them for quite some time but could not afford them because they were too costly. I later cleared some medical bills since I have been unwell for months and I am glad I am well now. In addition to that, I cleared school fees for my son who is in secondary schools. With the remaining cash, I bought enough food for the family."

Lako
received a $510 second payment.
"My life is different from how it would have been because I managed to purchase a good number of goats. Through them, I am optimistic that I will achieve most of my long time goals. Currently a few have started reproducing and this gives me hopes that very soon I will have many of them. My ain is when they increase in number, I will sell some and start a different project ie a hotel or a kiosk. I feel it's going to happen soon becasue goats are in high demand and I will not have to strain when selling them. Also, the fact that I cleared the school fees balances for my children brings a big relief into my life. It was so stressful especially when they are being sent home but I am happy that no longer happens."

Florence
received a $493 second payment.
"For all those years, I have been sleeping on the old traditional beds with old sacks and bedsheets. I have always been comolding of some back pains and being attacked by bedbugs and this led me to suffer from anaemia and pneumonia n most of the time. Therefore after receiving the second transfer I had to purchase a new wooded bed and a mattress and bedsheets. It is now a big relief to me because I am sleeping comfortably like the rest. Also, I purchased decent clothes for my children and me to replace the old ones. I later saved a little cash and used the reming on buying foodstuffs for my family."
