"I spent part of my second transfer on buying a bycycle at KES 5000. This will specifically help me majorly in carrying water. Also, I bought a dairy cow for a total of KES 15000. In addition, I bought a piece of land worthy of KES 18000. The previous one was no longer productive and there was a prolonged drought in my region, and I thought of an alternative permanent solution. "I had desired to own proper beddings in my life since the bed I had was broken and I use to sleep on the floor with old rags. I was constantly feeling back pains. I prioritized the purchase of a bed and mattress by spending $180 of the transfer. In addition, the remaining amount assisted me in boosting my goat rearing activity by purchasing 6 goats. This is because I had started it with my first transfer and I plan was to make it sustainable."

"In my opinion, GiveDirectly did well by helping us financially. This makes the organization unique since I have never seen one of a kind for all the days in my life. We had the privilege of choosing what's best for us according to our household needs. Honestly, this has really improved the living standard as a village. On the other hand, I do not see any part GiveDirectly needs to change."

"My life is different than how it would have been if I never received the transfers in that I have saved some money to buy school items and pay school fees for my daughter who is yet to join form one this month. I depend on small scale farming and the harvest that we get is only for consumption. I don't have a continuous source of income. I had some small savings but that was not enough. I was so worried because I didn't want my daughter to fail joining the form one. She score the best grades and she was called by one of the good school around. When I received the second transfer I felt so happy because I knew I would be able to pay all the school fees and my daughter would study well. Investment in education for my children had been always my wish. I am so happy because GiveDirectly has enabled us to live a better life."

"My life is different than how it would have been if I never received the transfers in that I have build a better house. I used to live in a small grass thatched house which could not host all the family comfortably. I do small scale farming and the harvest that we get is only for consumption, I didn't had an extra income to buy the building material and started building. The small amount of money that I could get was for the school fees for my children in various schools. When I received the second transfer I found it Worth to invest on building a better house. Currently I no longer fear welcoming visitors to my house because I have a spacious house. I am so much grateful for the support because GiveDirectly has changed our living standard."
