Furaha
received a $421 second payment.
"As a mother, I have really tried to make ends meet but its like it is impossible. My husband is unemployed and all he does is to move up and down in search of a good job. I used to sell fish which earned me a profit of $1 that I would immediately utilize to cover my family's needs. I would want to start my business where I will be selling vegetables because I believe people need food to survive and improve their own lives, hence they will be buying in bulk and I will be making huge profits."

"I have a goal which is to save enough cash which will be specifically for my daughter's school fees. She is currently in her first year in college and I believe that once she graduates and acquires a well-paying job, she will be the one to take care of my whole family since she is the only one who got the chance to go to school."

Mary
received a $436 second payment.
"When I initially started receiving my transfers, my family and I sat down and chose how we would spend them. We made the decision to build a very large and spacious house because the home we currently live in is some how small. We were able to begin the foundation with the first transfers, but we ran out of money before we could finish. We used the second transfer I got to complete building our house. We spent $300 on coral stones to design our dream home and we spent the remaining $250 on cement and other minor expenses. With the transfers, we were able to construct a large, three bedroom house for ourselves. My kids have their own room and we also have a spare room for visitors. Thanks to GiveDirectly for enabling us to have our own desired home."

Hellen
received a $436 second payment.
"I am a married woman who has 6 children. Two of my children are in college; one taking Education and the other is in KMTC majoring in nursing. My husband happens to be the breadwinner of my family due to the fact that I do not have a solid business to support my family. His line of work is selling shoes. His business was not doing well when I received my second transfers, so I decided to top up $20 to boost his business and he happily went ahead and added new stocks for his existing business. The remaining amount of $35 I was able to cover my children’s school expenses so that they may not be send back home and miss out the important things that their mates were doing in school."

Regina
received a $357 second payment.
"My goals is to have my own farm where I will be growing tomatoes and selling them to my neighbours who will buy it on profit. The money that I get after the sell of my products, I will save enough to build my self and family a new house. The current one that we are living in is not that spacious enough for my children and I. Thank you so much GiveDirectly for it all."
