Victoreen
received a $23 eighth payment.
"My main aim was to start poultry keeping, so in the next six months, I shall have completed the major projects I am doing now and started on the poultry keeping project. This is an income generating activity and I know from it, I shall get some income to help me improve my life that is not so good at the moment. I am not leaving the life I desire honestly."

Raphael
received a $368 second payment.
"I spent part of my most recent transfer to pay for a course in Automotive Electrical. I attend training for this course at Eastleigh estate just adjacent to Mathare. I have always had a passion for repairing faulty cars. I have been feeding and supporting my family with construction jobs in the past. I enrolled for this course not only to fulfill a dream of mine, but also to supplement my income alongside my construction engagements. When I first learnt that I qualified to receive transfers from Give Directly, I knew there and then that I was going to enroll in the course. I hope I can own my own workshop in future and offer employment to other youth. I spent the remaining of my transfers to complete building my house in my rural home and to purchase a cow."

Rosemary
received a $23 twelfth payment.
"I expect my life to change in the next six months in that, I will have bought my sheep which will sustain me even after the transfers from GiveDirectly have stopped. I will have also cemented my house and fixed my windows. My house will look more decent and will save me from the shame of being laughed at by the neighbours. When these goals actualize, I will be a proud woman who stays in a decent house. On top of that, I will also be financially stable since I can sell the sheep and use the money to take care of my needs or emergencies."

Arthur
received a $23 twelfth payment.
"I have a major project of buying the new water tank that will change my life if all goes well. I plan to make savings of close to 2000 KES per month for the next few months to come in order to be able to buy the new storage facility that will act as a reservoir for use during dry seasons like we experience right now. Water is a very precious commodity and without it human life can be quite unbearable and that is why I have to make effort to get the item within the next six to eight months from today."

George
received a $23 twelfth payment.
"We are getting into a planting season where every one prepares their land for the on-coming season. I plan to buy new seedlings and fertilizers that I will use where my main target is to get bumper harvest during the harvesting period. Having enough food is an important aspect in any human beings life because it makes the family food secure for a period of lets say five to six months before we can get into another planting season."

Jane
received a $23 twelfth payment.
"I expect my life to change a lot in the next six months because we shall have more land for farming and subsequently expect more income from the sale of farm products including milk and crops. After securing the additional acreage, we shall plant more crops and ensure our cows are well fed to provide more milk. Besides, I will be spending more time on my farm, and significantly reduce the amount of time and energy that I could otherwise be spending on my neighbors' farm. There be a switch on the main source of income from the casual work that I normally do at my neighbors' farm to being self-employed and working on my farm. Thanks a lot GD for giving us a helping hand at the best time in our life."
