Jane

"After clearing the loan I have with the farming organization, I would like to save some of these transfers to enable me expand my hotel business. I am currently not able to prepare enough food for my customers because of the little stock I usually buy due. This is because everyday,I take some money out of the profitss I make to to take care of loan payments and other household requirements which cannot allow my business to grow."

George

"In the next six months, I expect my education life to be easy and simple. I shall have built my own house in the next six months which will provide me with ample time for my night studies. I shall no longer wade on mud at night whenever it rains in search of a place to spend my night. This will greatly improve my performance in class as a result, I strongly believe that my ambition to attain university grades will be achievable."

Joshua
received a $50 fourth payment.
"I saved part of my recent transfer in table banking. Since I started receiving my transfers, I have been saving part of it every month because I am planning to open a barber shop. Currently, I am depending on casual jobs to meet my basic needs and pay school fees for my siblings since my parents passed away when we were very young. The money I get from casual jobs is little and cannot meet all the basic needs for my siblings. Starting this business will therefore be a source of income to pay school fees and provide basic needs for my siblings. I also used part of transfer to pay rent since I received the money at a time when I had not paid rent."

Newton
received a $50 fourth payment.
"The biggest difference in my daily life since I started receiving payments from Give Directly is that I can now meet all my basic needs. In the past, it was a challenge to provide my basic needs but now I no longer struggle since I used part of transfers to get basic needs such as food. I can also help my father to pay his hospital bill monthly check ups. He was involved in a road accident and he has been going for monthly hospital check ups. At times he could miss to go for the check ups when I did not have the money but now I am happy since he no longer miss the medical check ups since I am using part of transfers to pay his hospital bill."
