I am a professional photographer/videographer which is my main source of income. These jobs are rarely available unless it is during the festive seasons when most people hold parties and weddings, but for the rest of the year, one has to hustle. Before I started receiving transfers from Give Directly, I struggled a lot to raise enough money for my personal needs and other requirements such as rent and foodstuff. With the monthly transfers, I am now able to take care of all these on time even when I fail to earn anything from my job. I do not have to panic or hide from my landlord when it is end month and I cannot afford to pay my rent as I did before because the transfers help me with that.

My main goal is to boost my career as a photographer/videographer by having high-tech equipment that will also ensure quality work. I am currently using cheap equipment that do not have as many features as I would like so that I can offer more services to my customers. I would like to save most of these transfers and my earning so that I can eventually purchase the equipment that I desire to have in order to improve my job.

I have a plan of purchasing better equipment for my photography/videography job so that I can offer more quality services to my customers. For this to be possible, I have to save most of my transfers in order to raise enough money for the equipment, which is why I saved most of the money I recently received and spent only a portion of it on foodstuff.

I ventured into photography/videography business years back and has always entirely depended on it financially. This kind of job is seasonal and not always available which is why I had a very tough time taking care of my needs especially paying rent. I still have not managed to buy all the necessary equipment for the job and usually have to hire them whenever I have a gig. When I received the transfer, I used all of it to clear the loan.

The transfers enabled me to purchase a very expensive equipment that I would not have managed to buy on my own because I never made much profits from my photography business before. With the equipment, I am now able to produce more quality work than before which has also seen my business grow tremendously because quality sure does sell itself. My income has increased all thanks to GD transfers that have given me the chance to invest in the business and produce more quality work.

I want to expand my business by investing more in advertisements and promotions. With the quality equipment that I recently bought, I can now proudly advertise my work because I know it is of quality and many will not mind having my services. My long term goal is to be able to employ some of my friends to work with me to avoid depending on handouts and being idle.

I do Media Arts (Photography and videography) for a living and there are some equipment that I did not have that I have always wanted to buy. For the last few months, I have been saving some of my monthly transfers which I then combined with the most recent one and finally purchased the equipment that has really improved the quality of work.

My goal is to build my brand in photography. This would mean a larger client base and hence more proceeds. The transfers are going to cater for buying equpmnets and other necessities around building my brand.

The biggest difference in my daily life is that I started my photography business with the transfer. I have always been passionate about photography but I did not have enough capitsal to start the business. receiving the transfer was a life-changing event. Through the several types of equipment, I have I do photography on large scale and I now earn a lot from it. I am the happiest at the moment since I am able to meet my daily needs and get extra to save. I also support my [parents through the proceeds from this business.

I spent the most recent transfer on buying equipment. I am a professional photographer. I used the transfers to buy equipment around this business. I bought a reflector of KES 4000 and saved KES 1000.

A message notifying me that I had received the transfer at 5 am. I woke up to this good news and shared the same with my friends who also recipients. We all converged in one place to celebrate the good news. The joy that we all had was immeasurable. After celebrating we all promised ourselves that we would use the transfers for our good.
