"Lack of a reliable source of income has been the cause of distress and sleepless nights to my family. Most of the time I resort into charcoal burning business as an alternative, something that am unable to keep up with due to my poor health. Five years ago, I was diagnosed with peptic ulcers, a condition I've been unable to fully treat due to lack of adequate finances. This money, therefore, will be an end to my plight. I will engage in a more favorable and reliable business. Skipping meals will be something of the past."

"I do not expect my life to change in the next six months because I am still figuring out some of the best projects I need to indulge in. I have not found one yet. I do not want to start something that might fail due to lack of enough background checks. To me, I feel that rushing into something will not bring a good result. As for now, I think it is wise to ensure that I meet my basic needs."

"In the next six months, I will have come up with a strategy to ensure my daughter finishes school. I am planning to invest some of the money to help me raise the fee and still be able to meet my daily needs. I will be a proud mother living a well-planned life. This will bring peace in my mind. Peace is what I have been praying for in my life more than anything else."

"Having to rely solely on myself for upkeep despite my old age is the biggest hardship that I face in life. I have children and daughters in law but they do not contribute towards my upkeep on most occasions because they too are overwhelmed by their own family needs as they tell me whenever I seek for their help. This forces me to still struggle on my own despite my aching limbs to perform tasks such going to the farm, fetching water from far away pans and struggling to get food on my own when my farm stock runs dry because not doing so means sleeping hungry or even not getting water to bath myself and wash my belongings. I find myself wishing so many times that my husband were still alive so that he would take care of me like he used to when he was still alive."

"Receiving this money will grant us the opportunity to finally set up our own charcoal stall in Mombasa where the business is very lucrative. We will finally be able to afford setting up a stall, buying bulky stock of charcoal and paying transportation charges from production sites deep within the villages to Mombasa town. For a very long time, it has always been our desire to venture into this business but due to lack of finances to set it up,we always felt that it shall forever remain to be a dream. Now thanks to the transfers that we will be receiving, our dream will come true. We will work hand in hand with my husband whereby I will be sourcing for the product and sending to him in Mombasa to be selling since he is more learned than I and he will be able to do the calculations to make our business grow. "My life is quite different because for one I was able to get a job of my own because right now I have my own cows which I use to plow my own farm. Once the process is done I get to plant various cash crops which have been giving a lot of returns especially the beans where I normally get around four bags at the end of the season."

"Four out of my seven children missed quality education because of poverty and only one managed up to standard eight. They now lead very difficult lives where the two men are casual labourers and the ladies are housewives. I would not want the rest to go through the same and my greatest ambition to educate them. I believe education is the only way that can give them a better future because they will be able to secure jobs. This means they will take care of themselves and also help my aging husband and I. To achieve this, I will purchase goats for rearing that I will sell out to finance their educational needs. I prefer goats because they multiply faster and are drought resistant enough to survive the harsh climatic condition in my area."
