How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
This financial support has enabled me get additional piece of land that is going to increase my crop production. Furthermore, I was in position to plaster and cement the floor of my house that has made me very happy because I am now sleeping in clean house. Before receiving this transfer, I didn't have hope of completing my house and getting additional piece of land since the money I got went to pay school fees and buying foodstuffs.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly has done well to give me cash that I have spent to plaster my house and getting additional acre of land. GiveDirectly has only done me well.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I lent out UGX 1,500,000 in exchange of an acre of land and bought bricks that I intend to use for constructing a separate house for my children.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
When I receive this money, I will pay for my children's school fees and build a better house for our family. The house we are currently living in is not in good shape so this will have simplified our shelter issues. If there is any balance left I will buy some cows for agriculture.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the afternoon because it is the time I have to sit with my children and joke around. This excites me even when am not feeling well.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I have faced in my life is illness. This sickness puts me down occassionally and limits my input towards contributing to the household's livelihood.
