received a $23 fifteenth payment.
"As my child is headed to sit for an examination which is scheduled to take place in November, we are also looking for ways to raise the school fees since she will be joining secondary school. Among the plans that we have and hoping that they will have materialized before December is to establish a zero-grazing unit. We have a plan to sell the bull that we have in four months time and purchase an Artificially inseminated breed of a cow that will be productive in terms of milk. We are glad that we now have the means to ensure that our plan comes to pass. We have been saving from the two milk-producing cows that we have and we are hopeful that by then we will be having enough money to add up to the accrued amount and purchase a good breed."

Leonida
received a $23 fifteenth payment.
"I expect that in the next six months, my life will have changed in that, I will have bought a dairy cow which I have always longed for through the saving from the merry go round. I believe having this dairy cow, I will earn an extra income through the sale of the surplus milk to cater to my family needs. My family will also be having enough milk for their consumption."

"I have always had this great desire of starting up my own income generating activity. Ever since I had an accident and subsequently losing my job, I have understood what it means to have and to lack. And having struggled a lot trying to stabilize the situation with little success, this money comes in handy. Therefore, I will engage more in livestock trading, a business am so passionate about. Now that I have made some few strides in it, I will be able to put more focus now that capital won't be an issue anymore. Again I have a plot at the nearby shopping center which I want to develop using part of the transfers. This will help me to educate my children in the near future once it is operational. And that is what receiving this money means to me."

Richard
received a $23 eleventh payment.
"In the next six months, I expect my life to change in that, I will have started operating my business hence getting income. I have already started strategizing on how I will go about the business as I keep my monthly income so as to meet this goal. I am also optimistic that my business will do well because of the demand for household items in our area. If all goes well, I will have enough money to also repair my house by cementing it and fixing new windows and doors."

received a $23 fifteenth payment.
"My expectation in the near future is to buy a piece of land. The one I am in now is not enough to run all the agricultural activities that am planning to do. Once I plant the tea seedlings, I will start working towards this goal. I know the tea leaves will generate enough profits that will help me buy a piece of land within a short period of time. I believe all these are happening because Give Directly gave me a foundation to start from. I am grateful that I got a helping hand at the right time and I am very hopeful for better future."

"It's been more than five years in marriage but I have never known what my husband does for a living yet he stays in Mombasa claiming to be at work and only comes home once in every two months. This and many other examples I can tell to show you how women from my community are undermined by their men because we solely depend on them for finances, decision making and many other things. However, this is something I want to change for myself so I can be an example that others can emulate. I plan to use my GD transfers to be self reliant so I can earn my husband's respect and participate equally in our marriage. I will use my cash as capital for the lucrative livestock trading business in my community that is mostly dominated by men. "

"Being a solely bread winner in my family, I am forced to work as a masonry labourer, a job which is considered for men. This job is very laborious and it drains my energy yet it's income is very low that can not sustain our family needs like education, food, shelter and clothing. Therefore, I consider lack of reliable source of income as my biggest hardship."

"Receiving this money would help me purchase land for crop cultivation. The garden I have is small and I cannot produce much food for the family. The balance of the money will be used to buy oxen for ploughing since I keep on begging people to plough for me whenever the farming season kicks off."
