The mere fact that I received this money put a big smile to my face as it has enabled me t build my permanent house. I am now planning to move into my house without worrying about the leakage in case of rain.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
As I was awoke breast feeding my baby, I heard a message on my phone and checked. It was mobile money from GiveDirectly. At that very moment I felt really happy that I immediately put the baby away and thanked God for this message that I could not get to sleep till morning. I knew my dream of having a permanent house had come true.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent my entire first transfer Ugx 1700000 to buy all building materials such as bricks, sand, cement, timber, iron sheets, door, food and paying labor that helped in building my house to completion. However, some housing materials (timber) worth Ugx 70000 was stolen but I replaced it.
