Millicent
received a $464 third payment.
"I spent my third transfer on buying ten Iron sheets that I used to construct a pit latrine I had sunk earlier. I used to use my neighbors latrine given that I had not constructed mine, also paid school fees for my two children in secondary school. I am supposed to pay half the fees as the other part is paid by their sponsors. Thank you GiveDirectly for the transfers as my children did not have any arrears. I hope they will be able to help the others like me."

"The biggest hardship i face is lack of money for buying oxen and ox-plough to assist in ploughing. We therefore end up planting at late part of the season, which makes my family realize less harvests every year. This is causing serious hunger in my family because there is no food to eat."

Patrisia
received a $484 third payment.
"I used to spend a lot of money on buying paraffin so when I received my third transfer on connecting my house to electricity power. My children can now do their homework on time without getting scared of the lamp running out of paraffin like before. I also spent some money to buy a cow for milking and also construct a cow shed for my livestock. I am no longer worried of losing my livestock to thieves given that they used to sleep outside. The remaining I spent on food for my family consumes and also to weed to my farm. I pray that GiveDirectly open their arms and help others like me who are needy."

Florence
received a $464 third payment.
"I used a larger portion of my third transfer on expanding my house because I had a small house that couldn't fit my family. Given that we have poor soil that is not conducive for smearing a house I plastered my house too so that it doesn't fall off hence I won't incur the cost repairing my house every time. I built a kitchen because it was hectic cooking in open air especially during rainy season. I also used part of the transfer to buy goats for rearing."
