"Initially I had a booming livestock-buying and selling businesss where I would buy more than 10 cows and sell them all in the next market day. I had hired two people who were always driving them to the livestock auctioning market as I ride behind them on a motorcycle. The business was so great with an amazing profit margin but it never last any longer. Struggles to keep it going were all in vain which brought alot of worry to my family members who were always looking up to me for food, school fees, clothing, just to mention but a few. Providing for the family currently has really been hard which is my biggest worry."

"My struggle to feed my family using products from my farm has been so hard. The constant drought and land poor productivity has made my life very hard. I no longer get much from crop farming. Receiving this money will enable me to change to livestock keeping. I will abandon the labourious and not profitable maize farming. I will buy a dairy cow that will produce milk as a source of income. It will also be a source of food for my children. This transfer will buy me a cow and enable me to farm fodder and grasses instead of the traditional maize farming which has not been helpful."

"The biggest hardship I have faced in my life is lack of stable source of income to cater for my family's needs like food, shelter clothing and education. As casual workers we get paid very little money in a day and sometimes we do not get these jobs and this means going without a meal. "

"For two years now, I have suffered from elephantiasis, a condition that has drained me financially and psychologically, I have tried all means to treat it but to no avail. It has robbed me of my ability to engage in activities such as farming that I depend on for survival. To top it all, my daughter passed away leaving me with 4 of her children to take care of with no sort of income whatsoever. Sometimes I feel so overwhelmed with this turn of events and just find myself in tears, with no husband to share in my troubles, i feel so alone. My financial inability to meet my needs and that of my grandchildren has been my biggest hardship in life. "

"I will be able to pay school fees for my child who goes to Nyabeda secondary school so that he does not have to be sent away from school every now and then. I also have a son who finished his form secondary school education last year and I now plan to take him to college which needs quite some money."
