How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
The biggest difference in my life is that I now have a stable reliable source of Income. I managed to buy a dairy cow and fortunately it has started producing milk. Of which l sell some milk in our local market and some for my family consumption. Since the milk has started getting me some income, my family has never gone to bed hungry. We are able to at least meet our daily needs. Before I could spent alot of money buying milk from the neighbors and yet I did not have stable income of income a part from farming which is also seasonal.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion Give directly does not involve third party in their program, they deal with people directly. I also feel it was a very good thing to use M-pesa as away of sending money to us because it is very convenient and safer way send cash. Their stuffs were also transparent in everything they were doing, there were no any signs of corruption. I did not see what Give directly did not do well.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent the whole of the cash transfer to buy two dairy cows,I thought of buying cow because it is a long term investment that I could relay on for so long and it is also a source of income to my family. Fortunately all of them has started producing milk, that I am selling some to the community and some for my family consumption and making profit. Since the milk has started getting me some income, my family has never gone to bed hungry. We are able to at least meet our daily needs, as compared to before when I was depending on farming alone to sustain my family which sometimes I could not even get enough produce to sustain my family.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that l am now staying in a nice spacious comfortable house as compared to before when I was staying in a very small house.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment l received the transfer l was very happy but l could not show it for security purposes.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent most of the transfer to build iron roofed house since l was staying in a very small thatched leaky house where l used to be worried in raining season. I also spent the transfer to buy dairy cow, this will save me from spending money to buy milk from my neighbors. The remaining balance l spent to clear fee balance for my son who completed his secondary school.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means relief from stress and worries in life. I would like to construct a new house that is modern and spacious. My current house is profusely leaking and small in size.

The biggest hardship I am facing in life is lack of money to built a better house. I am sometimes forced to be for sleeping space in other people's houses during rainy season. This makes me feel unhappy.
