Faith
enrolled.
"On my usual day I wake up early in the morning, pray then start by cleaning the house, conducting all house chores and ensuring my child is clean and fed.
Then I take the clothes I am to sell and go to work. Before starting work, I take my child to my sister in -law's house so that she can help me take care of her as I go to work.
Normally I hawk the clothes I have depending with the price market, the clothes range from female clothes to children clothes. I walk around the whole day just to make sure I sell some clothes before going home.
Then I go back home in the evening, prepare food then go to sleep and wait for the next day.
During my free time I help out at Good Samaritan children's home or visit my aunt in Eastleigh."

Rispa
received a $535 initial payment.
"In my old age, I never knew I could get such amount of money. My children who could provide for me are all dead. My life is dependant of my small-scale farming which I do for survival. When I received the money and it was confirmed to me by my grandson, I celebrated by singing and appreciating God for Give Directly."

Dorsiler
received a $535 initial payment.
"Since I am the first born in our family, most decisions are always made with my approval. They have always looked unto me even if am married elsewhere. When my mother fell sick, I recommended the hospital in she was taken for treatment. When she was almost being discharged, my family were waiting for me on how we will raise finances to help pay the bills. I was so stranded because I did not know where to get or borrow 30000KES to settle the hospital bills. My daily income from my small business could not even satisfactory provide for my family. My siblings' income could not get even quarter of the total amount required. The only option we had was to sell part of our livestock to raise the money. Right now, I feel so very proud that we did not sell anything to raise the money for paying the hospital bills. I used part of my transfer to settle the bills. My mother is doing very well even though she is not fully healed but she is way better than how she was earlier. I thank God for Give Directly."

Prisillar
received a $195 initial payment.
"I currently depend on domestic jobs which are very rare to come by and sometimes not available at all. This kind of job has led me into a lot of debts just to provide for my family. To put all these behind me, I am planning to start a cloth selling business at a nearby market with the help of a friend who has promised to guide me. I will use my next transfers to purchase the stock and pay for the required licence."

"I had taken a loan from my table-banking group worth 10000KES which I cleared with part of the money I received. I saved the remaining amount in M-shwari locked savings account because I plan to spend it on purchasing school requirements for my son who just completed primary school and will be joining high school next year."
