"Receiving this money means I will be able to pay my children's school fees, buy a cow that can reproduce and take care of some future eventualities and start up a business that can keep my money growing.
I believe this will support my household.
Providing the education needs for my children will be made easier."

"If it were not for the cash transfers, I do not think it would have been possible for me to launch the business because after it collapsed some years ago, it has been extremely hard for me to revive it once again because I do not have a source of income which I can use to revive the business. Apart from that, I also mentioned before that I bought a cow at a whopping 24000 KES which is a lot of money which I could have never managed to raise to date. So for me, I just say thank you to Give Directly for helping me come this far."

"Being a farmer,I fully depend on my farm.It is a small piece of land and the current weather conditions as well as crop diseases have not made life easier.I have had poor harvests for two years now and this has forced my spouse and I to have to do casual jobs to provide for our children. This is the biggest hardship I have faced"

"Receiving this money means that my struggles will be lessened.Being a single mother with no source of income and children in secondary school, is a real struggle.Am the sole breadwinner,as such every other need that my family has is on me.It is always very difficult to raise money to pay for their education as well as feed and clothe them. With this money,I will be able to offset their fees balances and with the remainder buy a cow to substitute income from my farm."

"Providing for our daily needs as well as school fees has greatly derailed our development as a family.Every time my spouse has money, his first consideration is my university fees and basic needs for our two-year old son and I.Doing this has not even allowed us to own our own dairy cow which we have always wanted to have so that our son can be well nourished as well have a small income from the sale of milk.As such,we have been forced to spare money every month to buy milk and this is sometimes difficult. This is the biggest challenge I have faced"

"Having a permanent rental house is the biggest difference that I can proudly mention in my life. This is because its previous state was deplorable and as a result, I had to lower the rental charges to lure the tenants who felt the conditions of the house didn't warrant their habitation and for some were had second thoughts of relocating to other rentals. This was a big loss to me as the landlady because I was not able to cater to my daily needs with the meager income and being that these rental houses want I rely on for upkeep. Ever since I renovated it, my income has doubled because I increased the prices. Therefore, I am able to meet my family basic needs without any difficulties and all gratitude goes to GiveDirectly."
