"It was around 2 o'clock in the morning when I received some message notification on my phone. On checking to know who the sender was, I realized that it was from Give Directly notifying me that I had received some amount of money, my first transfers. I was filled with happiness at that instant as I knew that my daughter who had been sent back home for school fees arrears would surely go back to school. I then woke my children up, shared the good news with them and gave thanks to God for the blessings that had just come in. My children and I were really elated."

"It was around 2 o'clock in the morning when I received a message notification on my phone. I decided to check it out to know its content because it was out of the norm to receive a message at that time. Upon reading through, I realized that it was from GiveDirectly informing me that my first transfers had been debited into my account. At that instant, my heart was filled with happiness. This is because I had not believed that GiveDirectly would honor their promise when they told us of their intentions during the enrollment process. I then informed my spouse who received the news joyfully and we did not go back to sleep as we started planning how to spend them."

"I am expected to sit for my final exams in the next six months. My expectation, therefore, is that before then, I have all the requirements needed to sit for this exam such as ensuring that I have completed paying the school fees required and other requirements. It is my prayer that after the last exam, I will graduate and secure a better job now that I will be better qualified. This will be one step toward my desire of being financially stable."

"My life is different is because I used the money to buy a new window grill and a new door for all my rooms in the house. Whenever I leave the house I make sure that I lock all the rooms before I leave unlike before when one could easily just walk in and get access to the entire house with so much ease. Apart from that, I built a new toilet structure which now gives the family the freedom to attend to nature call at any given time as opposed to how we used to do it previously when we could only do it during night hours when no one is watching."
