"My top concern is gang violence/crime and drug abuse because I live in an area where drug abuse is rampant. My area of residence is in Nigeria in Mlango kubwa Mathare. Young men and women have engaged in drugs abuse and I fear for the future of my children. There are plenty of used injections left all over the ground, children might use them and this is very dangerous. There are various gang groups who terrorize the residents and almost every night police arrests and killings happen here. I do not want my children to ever face such challenges in life and that is why I want the best life for them."

"My top concern is unemployment because I work in the casual sector industry as a casual labourer. I have no job security because as a group we all depend on the money we collect and most of the time it barely puts food on my table, so I have to work two or three jobs instead. My other job involves touting, I collect fare and ask people to use public vehicles service but since the job is readily available, everyone fights for their shift. As a tout I also face police arrest and brutality and I have been arrested before for that. All these challenges make me worry that I will not have enough capital for my sustainability."

"The biggest hardship that I am faced with is lack of money. I use someone else's motorcycle to do boda-boda business but this does not reward. Usually, the owner of the bike expects his share at the end of every week. The ammount of money that I present to him determines how much he will pay me. At a period when bussines is not so good, I suffer the lose which the boss can never understand. I really have to work hard to please the boss but this does not benefit my family. I just do this because I don't have an option but it is not the best."

"The biggest hardship that I am faced with is lack of farm land. My father has only a small piece of land which he has to share among the many children that he has. This land is never enough to sustain life. I can not farm as expected. As I speak now, I don't have food in the house because there is no where for me to cultivate. "
