"The biggest hardship I face is lack of money for educating my children. Iam failing to provide other scholastic materials and fees for my children studying in Amus primary school due to lack of money. This is affecting their academic performance and they may end up getting bad results at the end."

"Receiving this money means I will be able to build another house for my family. My family is growing but the house that I have is just only one bedroom which is not comfortable to share. Some times we have also received visitors but I can not accommodate them because the house is small. "

"Staying with my children at home due to lack of school fees has been the biggest hardship in my life. I am forced to engage in casual labor of vending water at the nearby town in order to cater for their education needs. The income from my activity is at most 1.5 dollars which I spend in feeding my family size of 9 members."

"Financial constraint is the biggest hardship that we are faced with as a family. Just as I stated before, my husband is the sole bread winner but his income is not sufficient enough to fend for the needs of our six children and I included. I am really struggling to feed my children since my husband's income is channelled into ensuring that the school fees for our first born who is in class eight is fully paid so that she sits for her exams. Farming that I used to rely on is not possible any more because it has not been raining of late. Thus attaining money to buy food for my children is my biggest challenge on a daily basis."

"My husband is working very far away from home in a place known as Garissa. It is so far away such that in a year, he only manages to return home thrice and for only a maximum of two weeks. The painful part is that he only does casual jobs over there and earns at most.ksh.400 on an inconsistent basis. We miss his presence greatly at home in that some decisions and roles that he is required to take up as the man of the house are forced on me. With this transfers, I feel that my greatest wish of having us live together as one family will come true. We will be able to invest in a shop keeping business that my husband will be in charge of. We will also buy some livestock for keeping that I believe will help us in the long run in catering for the education of our children."

"I'm currently running a grocery shop which I started with the GD transfers. I'm glad the business has picked and I have been earning a good profit from it. I'm thinking of venturing into a new business (selling goats) which I have seen doing well in our area. This will enable me to earn more income which will enable me to comfortably meet my household needs. In the next six months, I'm expecting to have started the business and hopefully I'll be earning a good income from it."

"My expectation in the near future is to ensure we are living a more improved life. Once I have bought a water tank, I would want to build a better house for us. The one we currently live is quite small for our growing family and is sometimes uncomfortable. Besides this, it is also quite old. I expect our living standard to improve."

"The money was sent late at night. However, early the next day, I was called out by my spouse who had the phone. He told me to check my mobile account. I was amazed by the mobile money message. I was very excited because I had very many plans for my household."
