Chepkoech
received a $535 initial payment.
"The biggest difference in my daily life is that I now own a dairy cow. It had always been my wish to own one but I had not been able to due to overwhelming family needs. This cow is my long term investment. When it reproduces, I will be selling milk to earn an income to use in paying school fees for my children. Also, it will help me reduce my daily expenditure hence I can be able to save some money."

Anyango
received a $22 seventeenth payment.
"I expect to have a stable business in the next six months. Having a business will enable me to have an additional source of income. The little money I get from my shop business I will use to expand it and part of it I'll use on plastering my house. I want to thank Give Directly for this kind of economic empowerment.
I expect to live a better life, for example, I want to make sure that I plaster my house and paint it so that one day I will give testimony to my grandchildren, that it is because of Gively Directly that I owned such a house."

Michael
received a $22 twenty-first payment.
"I am a goal-orientated person and I have a belief I will achieve my dream of having dairy farming in my home. I expect to have a better life than the one I have now by having an additional source of income. I have a lot of difficulty in both paying school fees for my school-going children and providing other basic needs. It is very hectic simple because I have to provide everything alone though my daily income is too little to sustain their needs. At times I am forced to borrow in which some people after helping you they start talking bad about you. In the next six months, I expect to have a better life, whereby I can financially support my family without straining too much."

Nancy
received a $535 initial payment.
"I believe that for one to be successful in life, he/she must have gone through school. Due to this, my children's education has always been my priority and I always do anything possible to make sure that I pay their school fees on time. I received my first transfer at a time when they had been sent back home to collect the arrears I was still owing the school. Being able to clear these arrears using my transfers is the biggest difference in my daily life because they were able to sit for their end year examinations and they will be moving to their next grade next year."
