How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is better now, I feel good because I sleep in an iron roofed house that I constructed with the GiveDirectly transfers. I am no longer worried of rain like before when I was sleeping in a hut with a leaky roof. My mind is at peace and I am happy.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
GiveDirectly did good to follow us up just to ensure that every body who was enrolled gets money for example they gave appropriate advise to those with account issues. Every thing is good, there is nothing bad with their work.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I used my first transfer for buying food, construction materials like a door and 2 windows, 7 bags of cement, Iron sheets that were used for completing the construction of my iron roofed house. I paid school fees, a debt, and builders.

I'm happy that I have secured building materials that I will use to put up a permanent structure and I won't have to sleep in a leaky house. when I occupy my house, I will be having peaceful nights and worry no more about rain. My entire life I never imagined I could sleep in a iron roofed house because I never had resources to build one. I want to extend my sincere thanks to GiveDirectly for tremendously change my standards of living.

The day I received this money, I was so happy to that extent I realized all my problems could be solved with this money. for example my current house that I occupy leaks so bad there is no difference between me and a homeless person because the roof is open.

I bought building materials like Bricks and Iron sheets. The remaining money I bought food, household items and school supplies for my children.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this moneys I will be able to construct an iron roof house for myself. From the time my husband died, I have been in this house. It is now delapidated and maintaining it has become a challenge because getting thatching grass is not simple.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the afternoon when I am resting. I feel good because I will have accomplished my garden work.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship I have faced is lack of money to help me educate my children. Being a single mother, I have limited land for agriculture, I could not start business and my children ended up dropping out of school.
