Dama
received a $512 second payment.
"I have been operating a shop that has not been doing well since it started. I was only selling some fast moving goods only. The income was not that good, however, I am now getting a good income having added stock through the money. I also built a house for my children since they were seeking shelter from the neighborhood at night. I am glad that they now have a good place to live in."

Kanindi
received a $512 second payment.
"I was previously living in a grass thatched house for many years with no hope of upgrading to a better house. I am now living in an iron roofed house. Also, I have enrolled my son to a college. He would have stayed at home for months since I couldn't raise the tuition fee were it not for this financial help. He is now studying well through this money."

Irine
received a $22 twenty-sixth payment.
"My life will be different in the next six months in that I will have finished the tailoring course and started my own business. After clearing the training fees, I plan to start a small savings account where I will be saving my transfers so that I can buy my own sewing machine. When I will have bought my machine, then I will be able to start my own tailoring business. I know through the business, I will get a regular income which will be able to sustain my needs in the future long after the transfers are over. I would not want to go back to casual work as it was the case before the transfers."

Joan
received a $22 twenty-sixth payment.
"My life will be different in the next six months because I will be having my own cows. This is a dream I gave up on long ago because, in my own ways, I could not manage to raise money to buy a cow unless I had to sell a piece of land which I was not ready to do. Since I started receiving my transfers from GD and I have already managed to buy three sheep, I will add tow more and then exchange the sheep for a cow. I am determined in buying a cow because when the cow reproduces, not only will the number I have increase, I will also have milk for family consumption and even sell the rest to an extra income which will be a boost in handling family needs. Anytime I have any financial emergency, I can also sell some to raise money for the emergency without taking a loan or borrowing."

Alphonce
received a $22 twenty-sixth payment.
"After finishing the loan I have been paying with my transfers, my wife who has been jobless because she did not get to college joined college. And once again, the transfers have been helpful because they have been the fees for her as we join up our transfers on a monthly basis. Therefore in the next six months, I know, together with my wife's transfers, we will have cleared her college fees and she will have a humble time to study in peace without worrying about fees. She is currently training to be a teacher and in the next six months, she will have finished the course courtesy of GD transfers."

Jumwa
received a $512 second payment.
"My life is different from how it was in that I sleep in a comfortable place after buying two mattresses using the transfer. I also live in a decent house. The best part of it is being able to boost my business once again with the remaining amount of money. I normally trade goats. Now that I managed to fix a steel door, I will no longer be worried of the security of my house anymore."

Zawadi
received a $512 second payment.
"My life is different than it would have been if I never received the transfer in that, today I trust that in a few days, I will be living in a decent house courtesy of GiveDirectly's transfer. I decided to used the whole of my second transfer on building a house which is almost done because the current one is in a pathetic condition. A decision that I do not regret making. I also plan to goats and revive my business with the remaining amount of money."

Rehema
received a $512 second payment.
"My life is different than it would have been if I never received the transfer in that, I managed to buy goats and built a house. Having a house is the best gift that I got from GiveDirectly. I enjoy the space and privacy that came with the new house. I have also found a new title and work that I enjoy. I am a farmer specifically rearing goats. Looking back, I am grateful for the way I spend my time nowadays. After doing household chores, I normally spend the better part of the days in the fields with the animals which is worth it."

Sharon
received a $22 twenty-sixth payment.
"In the next six months, I know I will be having another piece of land. M<y plan is to save part of my monthly transfers so that IO can buy another cow. I know the cow will reproduce which will increase the number of cows I own. I will also benefit from milk by selling some to earn a small income but my main goal is to use the cows to buy my own plot. I will sell the cows to raise money to buy a piece of land where I will be doing my farming. I feel I have been missing a lot when I do not farm. I want to be more productive."

Janeth
received a $512 second payment.
"I depend on subsistence farming and casual jobs to cater for both household daily needs and any other goal in the family. I have children in various schools and my biggest ambition is to see them prosper in their education to allow them to have a better life in the future. Raising their school fees and meeting households basic needs is challenging for me due to the limited resources in our family. Currently keeping a cow with an aim that once they reproduce, I will have milk for both household consumption and sales gives me a the biggest difference in my daily life. I look forward to having offsprings which to me I can always depend on in case of any financial crisis more so to raise my children's education fee and any other household necessity arising. It gives hope that I can always provide for my family."
