"Having my own semi-permanent house has made my life to be very different. This is because previously, I used to shelter in a small hut that was leaking during the raining seasons. We used to seek shelter from my relatives which so stressful. I have never enjoyed my marriage life because of the condition of my house. Secondly, the ox that I bought, will be of great help to me in my farming activities, I will no longer have to hire from friends as I used to do. Also, I will be hiring them from friends at a fee whereby will be earning a living. If it were not for GD coming to my life I don't think if I would be owning all these."

"My life is now very different because I am now owning a semi-permanent house and some livestock. Previously, we used to shelter under a very small house that could not accommodate all my family members. Some of my children used to seek shelter from their friends which were so hectic. Due to this, I had to construct a new decent house which is absolutely spacious. We are now living happily and we no longer worry about the issue of shelter. Secondly, with the goats, they have started multiplying and this will make me wealthier in a short period of time. I will now be able to sort any kind of emergency of a problem that I may encounter. If it were not for GiveDirectly coming to my village I would not have achieved all these."

"My life is now different because I managed to buy livestock such as goats and chicken. These have been the well thoughtful assets that I can depend on just in case of any financial crisis. Currently some of the goats have started reproducing which is making me hopeful. When the offsprings multiply and mature enough, I will start a business of selling them and then I will be saving the money and start some other projects. In addition to that, I will be able to send all my children to school because currently most of them are still young. I believe by the time they will be joining the school I will have enough that I have saved and i will not struggle in paying their fees and meeting their daily needs as well."

"The biggest hardship I face is inadequate land for crop cultivation. We own three pieces I farm land which is not sufficient to support our livelihood. We therefore spend the little money we get on hiring land which is not sustainable."

"I expect my life to have improved because I will invest more of these transfers in farming. I will lease more land and move my crop farm so that I can leave my own farmland for forage. On the land I have at home, I will grow fodder and keep some grazing ground to boost my milk production. This will increase my daily income since crops only yield any income after a long period of time. When I have a regular and a higher income from milk, I will be able to meet my household's daily needs in a better manner."

"A lot has happened in my life ever since I started receiving financial support from GiveDirectly. First, I managed to pay school fees for my children who are in colleges and primary school. They were approaching some exams and they had been sent home because of the huge fee balances. I was so sure that they would miss the exams. I am so glad because I managed to pay the fees and they resumed with their studies without any disturbances. This is assuring me of their brighter future together with generation. Therefore this makes my life to be so different and it was not for this organization coming to my life, I would not have managed to do all these."
