Selina
received a $502 second payment.
"I had always wanted to build a bigger house since the one we used was getting smaller with the increasing size of the family. Being a small trader and a casual laborer, this was not possible since most of what I made went into school fees payment and other immediate household needs. Building the new house, therefore, would not have been possible with my meager earnings."

Jackline
received a $502 second payment.
"Before I received these transfers, my children had a difficult time studying and doing their homework. I did not have chairs and a table where they could sit and do their work comfortably and they were forced to use water containers in place of a chair and a table. I am glad that they can now study well after I bought some chairs and a table. In fact, they even enjoy doing their work more than before. I do not need to force them to do this as I used to. I am also glad that I have some livestock on my farm, something I never dreamt of owning. My meagre daily wages would have never made it possible for me to buy them since most of the money I would earn would go into the daily needs. I am so grateful for GiveDirectly."

Dama
received a $502 second payment.
"Having have renovated my house makes the biggest difference in my life. Fist my previous house was in poor condition with some leak roofing. It was so hectic especially during the winter seasons because we had t seek shelters from relatives. I am now a happy parent because all is sorted now and I no longer shy away whenever I have visitors as I used to. In addition to that, I now have my own lair of oxen which is now of great help in my agricultural activities. I can now prepare my farm in time and also hire them to my neighbors and generate an income. Previously, I was using my own which was so tiresome and I could not even finish an acre. This was leading to low products. It is now a relief to me and I am so proud to mention it. Had it not for GD coming to my village I would not have achieved all this."

"I have been longing to sleep in a better house for years but then I did not have the required materials for the construction of the house. Therefore after receiving my transfers, I settled in renovating my house. I am now a happy parent because Inmabed to renovate it and I do not have to worry about the rains and I can also harvest the rainwater for my family. To add on this I am now sleeping comfortably on a new mattress whereby previously I was using the old which was not comfortable and led to some backpains. The two achievements make the difference in my life that I can proudly talk of."

Mary

"I have been married for over 20 years and the major challenge I have been encountering is the fact that I did have a permanent house. Having have received my transfers that were my priority. I managed to construct a spacious house that is well plastered and permanent. The previous one could not accommodate some of my family members so they were forced to seek shelter at my neighbors and relatives. I am so happy now because we are happily living together which has always been my prayer."

Kipngeno
received a $502 second payment.
"The equipment that I bought for my farm is the best thing that I have ever done in my life. I currently run a business using the chaff cutter to make feeds for my neighbors at a fee. I make an extra income making silage after cutting fodder for them. My milk production also has gone up due to proper feeding. All feeds are well utilized as the animals are able to consume all the fodder as they are all cut to size. I sometimes sell feeds to other farmers. I am currently having a long queue of farmers who have south my services. This makes me a busy man unlike before when I used to have very little work to do. I love making income this way and I am so grateful to GiveDireclty."

William
received a $22 twenty-sixth payment.
"I expect to have completed building my own house at my father's compound in the next six months. This will be very nice since I don't like sharing a room with my cousins who are way younger than me. I will spend the monthly transfers to buy building materials bit by bit until I have enough. According to my plan, I will have a new house that wholly belongs to me."
