Caren
received a $516 initial payment.
"For a long time, I have been willing to rear dairy cow in my compound but because of the financial difficulties, I could not afford it. I had other issues to attend to like paying school fees with the little money which I would earn from farming and casual jobs. I am so glad now because Give Directly actualized my dream because I managed to buy a lactating dairy cow. Some years back, I used to own some livestock but I had to sell them in order to clear school fees for my children. I also managed to construct a house for my children and they have a good place to sleep and to study as well. I am now a happy parent and honored because am better off than how i use to be before. And I feel this brings the difference in my life."

Aron
received a $516 initial payment.
"Receiving the transfer has completely turned my life around in a way that I never thought possible. I used to live in a small grass-thatched house that was my biggest problem. I depended on small unreliable jobs such as motorcycle taxi business which I had to quit after I was involved in a grisly accident and then later switched casual construction jobs after my recovery. These jobs could not provide enough money to care of my family's basic needs and pay my brother's school fees,so I set it aside the need to construct a better house and took care of the most urgent needs. Am living a stress free life now that I have a better house and I know that my brother's fees are also covered. I can now focus my attention to other stuff like finding myself a wife."

Thabu
received a $516 initial payment.
"I spent part of my first transfer on buying some cement, sand, and bricks to renovate my house. The previous one was in poor condition and it was almost collapsing due to the weak walls. I am also planning to buy a pair of oxen as my living assets that will majorly help me in my farming activities. I then bought some beddings such as two new beds and two mattresses. This was to replace the old beddings that I have been using before. The remaining amount I am using it in buying enough foodstuffs for my family."

Kanze
received a $516 initial payment.
"Before the coming of GiveDirectly in my life, I was sleeping in a small muddy hut with some grass-thatched roofing. I did not have money to buy the required materials to upgrade it. Therefore whenever it could rain I never had peace because I had to seek shelter from my neighbors together with my family and at times I felt like I had become a burden to them. I am now so happy because I managed to construct a new decent spacious house that can accommodate all my family members. I no longer worry about the rains I used to, and I feel this has brought the biggest difference in my daily life."

Jonah
received a $21 twenty-seventh payment.
"I expect my family to live better in the next six months since I will have bought a storage water tank. I will be collecting rainwater for domestic use. Availing water in my compound has always been the hardest part of my life. Living the highest part of a rocky hill means water is not accessible. To fetch water I have to hire someone to bring or have my wife traveling long distance down the hill and coming back with a water container up the hill is exhausting and also harmful to her health. I will have changed this situation when I get money from my merry go round group and by a water tank."

Tergech
received a $21 twenty-sixth payment.
"I expect my life to have improved greatly because I will have two daily income sources; from milk production and eggs. Establishing a chicken keeping business will give me an additional income. This project will be complete in the next six months. I will be using the money on meeting my daily needs and those of my children who are school going. I hope that I will be getting enough from my farming ventures to support our humble lifestyle post this Corona Virus pandemic. Thanks a lot, GiveDireclty."

Joyce
received a $21 twenty-sixth payment.
"In the next six months, my life will have improved because I will have restarted a poultry business and this will be a constant income. I believe that income from the eggs and selling chicken when they multiply can enable me to buy a cow, just like I did before. The current cow that provides milk for this household was bought through a similar project."

David
received a $21 twentieth payment.
"In the next six months, I will be having livestock to keep. I intend to buy sheep and chicken so that I grow them. When they multiply, I will have enhanced my capacity to provide for my family especially from the sale of eggs. I hope that I will have this established by the end of the next months. I expect this income-earning to help in meeting my daily needs."
