"In my opinion, GiveDirectly did well for remember the less fortunate in the society by sending them cash transfer. This transfer has brought a lot of development in the society since we received adequate training before the cash was sent to our phones."

Currently, I own one cows and 5 goats and some are about to give birth. Additionally, I was able to construct a decent shelter for my family. Earlier, I was living in a small house which was about to collapse. Furthermore, I now have enough food for the family unlike before when we could spend the whole day without eating."

"In my opinion, GiveDirectly did well for coming up with the unconstitutional cash transfer program. This has transformed the lives of every household in the society. On my part I was able to fulfil the desires of my hearts. I don't see anything that it does not go well."

"My life is different than it would have been if I had never received the transfer in that we are now living a better life. With the help of the aid I was able to construct a decent shelter and purchased proper beddings. I have never slept on proper beddings in my life, rags is what I have been using for all those years. In addition, I saved some amount which will assist me in plastering my house and cater for any emergency that I may face in the future. Lastly, I was able to acquire warm clothes which protect us from the cold weather."

Bahati
received a $493 second payment.
"I spent $270 of the transfer to improve the condition of my house by constructing additional one room. This is because my previous house was very small to accommodate both me and my commodities. I was very ashamed whenever I receive guest because I had to seek for them shelter from my neighbors. In addition, I spend $200 to pay for fees for my child who is in secondary school. At moment, my child is learning without being disrupted due to lack of school fees. The remaining amount assisted me in purchasing sufficient food for my family."

"My life is different than it would have been if had never received the transfer in that I now live a comfortable life, I was able to purchase proper beddings for the family .Back in the days I use to sleep in the same bed with my 3 children but now they have a separate bed and mattress. Also, I was able to construct a separate kitchen since I use to cook in same house. The smoke from the firewood was destroying our clothing. In addition, I was able to acquire a piece of land which I am planning to construct a rental house that will earn me a living."

James
received a $510 second payment.
"I spent part of my second transfer on buying a piece of land at KES 30000. I have been yearning to own it for quite a long time because the previous one was very small and unproductive. Therefore in every planting season, I used to lease those of my friends which was very expensive. Also, I bought two goats that I am currently keeping in my homestead. I later paid the mason KES 4500 as the labour for the previous task I had assigned him. With the remaining amount, I bought enough foodstuffs for my family and other household items that I was lacking."

Nyevu
received a $510 second payment.
"I spent part of my second transfer on buying some building materials such as iron sheets, timber, and nails. This was for the completion of my house that I had initially started with the help of first transfers. Also, I cleared school fees for my grandchildren who are in secondary schools. Later on, I bought a dairy cow at KES 35000 which has been my desire to keep in my compound but I could not afford it. Also, I bought a new bed and a mattress to replace the traditional beds made of ropes that we have been using for years. With the remaining amount of money, I bought enough foodstuffs for my family since my spouse is jobless and we only depend on our children who also rely on odd jobs."

"The menial jobs, weeding and fencing people's farms at a small fee(3$ in a week) is what we have been relying on to sustain ourselves.Insufficient money has seen us live in a single grass thatched house our entire lives which is uncomfortable because of smoke as a result of cooking.Receiving this money will mean that my household will be free from smoke as we intend to construct a decent house ,which will be used entirely for other purposes different from cooking, using part of the transfers. Also,we have never owned a cow and we usually buy milk for our domestic use. Therefore, receiving this money will also mean that we will be proud owners of a cow and an end to the perennial milk buying activity that has become part of us for over 10 years."
